Day 1 of the red dot.
Day 1 of Lockdown.
T when everything changed for good.
We all see it. The red dot in the Sky. I am not talking about the sun. The government is saying that it's a satellite that has caught on fire. I thought fire is fuelled by oxygen, which in space is scarce. So how did it catch fire and why is it still burning? How big is it in space because it is the size of the moon from here?
Ever since it appeared in the Sky, everyone became a space physicists or conspiracist. They theorised what it is, why we see it but no one knows what will happen next.
Whatever it is, it got the nation off work. The moment that thing appeared in the Sky, the president high-jacked our phones and broadcasted a state of emergency. We are to not fear and stay in our homes from 10 pm to 4 am, and both school and work is cancelled tomorrow. Further notice will be shared 7pm tomorrow.
He did not say what it was. But a nation-wide lockdown is a tad too dramatic for a satellite on fire locked in orbit. He says that the debris could come crashing down anytime and anywhere so we are to remain indoors, especially at night.
You can't see it in the day but at night it's right in your face, watching you.
It's very ominous but Twitter is handling it quite well. Well, the Americans are freaking out. The South Africans are making jokes. 40 minutes after the appearance of the red dot in the sky, the hashtag #wheredidyouseeit is trending. Someone saw it leaving the clubs, thought it was rapture, and headed to the church to repent. Others were at home, by the beach, in the office, or in parts of the earth where it was still day lucky to have hours to prepare their hearts for the sight of it.
Where was I? Does it matter?
Something suspicious is happening and everyone is on edge.
A more important hashtag should be #doyoureallybelieveitsasateliteonfire?
It could be a fireball heading for us. God did promise that he won't flood the earth, but He did not say anything about fire. It could be a large rocket with billionaires leaving earth just before it happens. It could be an alien space craft. It could be a million things but it definitely isn't a satellite on fire.
