Introduction
This is a tale of a world not unlike our own in a time long past—a time before towers scraped the sky, before metal-winged birds soared through the air, and before there were weapons capable of destroying everything that mankind has ever built.
This is a tale of eight fabled artifacts left by the long-gone and nearly forgotten Gods of Valeria. Individually, these are objects of tremendous power. Together, it is rumored that these eight Relics grant eternal life, invincibility, and the ability to reshape—or unmake—all of reality.
This is a tale of a dark king who rules the land without mercy on a quest to obtain these eight objects of might and the Godhood their possession will bestow.
But mostly, this is a tale of the boy on the verge of manhood who will stand against him.
