Prólogo

Nunca creí terminar en un lugar como este, en esta posición. No entendía por qué era yo la que terminó en una estación de policía y no él. Por qué era a mí a la que le fotografiaban el cuerpo y no a él. Por qué era yo la que debía estar frente a una psicóloga y no él.

Era de noche. Estaba completamente empapada y ensangrentada. No sabía si temblaba por el frío o por la ansiedad que estaba sintiendo. El silencio era abrumador en ese recinto, se podía oír el reloj con fuerza. Como si hace unos minutos atrás no estuviera en medio de una pelea con un monstruo.

Podía oír los vidrios romperse cerca de mi cabeza y caer sobre el suelo.

—Permiso —dijo el hombre que me fotografiaba.

—Sí —acepté por décima vez.

Cada vez que debía correr mi ropa o mi cabello para registrar mis heridas, pedía permiso. Era el protocolo. Pero era cansador tener que responder cada dos segundos lo mismo. Además el hecho de que me fotografiaran me hacía sentir como si fuera un bicho raro al que debían inmortalizar.

Yo no era el bicho raro. Era él. Era él quien debía sentirse ahogado, el que debía sentirse expuesto y humillado. Era él quien hacía cosas anormales.

—¿Quieres que paremos? —preguntó una mujer uniformada que supervisaba todo el proceso. Mi rostro estaba húmedo, no podía parar de lagrimear.

—No, quiero que esto se termine.

—Ya casi finalizo —respondió el fotógrafo con una sonrisa triste.

—No hablo de esto.

Luego de que me examinaran y tuvieran las pruebas necesarias, salí de ese lugar con mi mejor amiga. Días después debía asistir a sesiones con una psicóloga forense. Tenían que saber que tanto daño mental me había provocado él.

—¿Cómo estás, Briana? —preguntó la psicóloga.

—Me siento confundida —respondí intentando sonreír con los ojos humedecidos y levantando mis manos. Luego las dejé caer con frustración junto a mi sonrisa.

Estaba sintiendo muchas cosas a la vez. No podía procesar todo lo sucedido. ¿Cómo haría para expresar todo lo que había pasado si solo lo había callado por mucho tiempo? Yo sabía callar, no decir lo que me pasaba.

—No sé por dónde comenzar y no sé cómo va a terminar todo esto.

—¿Qué tal si me cuentas todo desde el principio?
