Chapter 1: The Curse

Centuries ago, in the kingdom of Lavona, a great fight broke out between the two sons of King Gorge II. The adopted son elder son Prince Eden and the biological younger son Prince Edger battled day and night for the throne. Never in their worst nightmares had they imagined that the war would result to a curse upon the two sons.

It all began on the day a lovely married couple came to the royal court of justice. As soon as the door opened the man was pulled inside by two well-armed soldiers. He claimed to have no other motive but to seek justice for his wife who was robbed by bandits appointed by Prince Eden. Prince Edger, who was now seated on the judge's seat, accused them of being spies of his enemy.

The man's wife pleaded the prince to verify the tragedy for himself before bestowing judgement but the merciless prince Edger announced death sentence for the two to be executed in the court. They begged him to reconsider. Just then Prince Eden barged into the court and declared an attack. Out of rage the soldiers marched to defend their princes. Edger drew his weapon in vulgar rage and ambition, blood flowing through his body with supreme speed. With one gash of his sword, Edger slit the man's throat and with that all of their worst nightmares came true.

The woman came running to the man and like a body, drained of all its power, fell upon the beheaded man. Edger with an intention to kill the woman tried to hold her up but just then within the blink of an eye, her body turned to ashes and there rose a phantom. It looked a human with huge flattering wings of black. She had her hair locks falling swiftly on her eyes while its lengths covered her back to her waist brushing gently over the wings. The dirty wrapper and apron transformed into a gorgeous long red gown. She was a deity with a halo over her head.

"How dare you kill my husband! We came for justice but both the brothers snatched away the very basis of my living in this mortal world."

She paused, stood up and said, "You will suffer for this. I shall curse you to suffer."

Her red trembling eyes, now filled with floods of tears, turned to Edger.

"One of descendants shall bear two daughters. One will be a blessing to the people and the other a bad omen. They shall fight and one must die before turning twenty-one to end this curse."

Now her eyes shifted to Eden.

"You and all your descendants shall transform into a wolf on full moon nights and transform back only at sunrise. You will only lead a normal life when the curse ends, if it ever ends."

And with a vengeful smile she disappeared into thin air as sparks of an igniting flame engulfed her whole body.

The two brothers could not believe what just happened. They laughed it off with a terrified look on their faces and regarded it a hallucination to keep calm masking it with a made-up belief. They both decided to call off the attack to settle their minds. That night - a full moon night – a wolf's howl woke prince Edger. He rushed to look through his window only to discover that the howl came from the direction where prince Eden's royal castle was built.
