The Delinquent

Fifty years ago, during a time of great darkness when demonic creatures roamed the lands of the world of Luto, when hope was lost, two men who go down in history as the saviors of this dark time emerged. The first man was a man named Lord Patrick Bahamut, a master of the dragon martial arts, who was raised by a dragon. The other man was a man who came from an unknown origin, as he rose from out of nowhere, a man fueled by revenge for those devils that burned his home village to the ground. Robert Alistair, a man who had claimed the title of Dragon Swordsman and was a powerful spear user. An Esper was a human that was created by their user’s life energy and became a weapon that their user could use in combat. Robert’s Esper was a young woman who could transform into a great sword; her name is Terra Godslayer. They would travel far and long on their journey, fighting many trials.
But they would find the source of this blight that plagues the world, a strong and powerful demon. They would fight this creature, which gave them a test of their skills. After a long and hard-fought battle, they would be victorious and bring peace back into the world. But this was not the end, as in a last-ditch effort, the demonic creature takes its last resort and blows up, trying to take them with it. When the dust cleared, both Patrick and Robert were unscathed, but one was unlucky, as they both looked in horror to see Terra use a powerful protection spell to protect them from the blast by sacrificing her life. They would mourn her death. A little while after, Robert Alistair would mysteriously disappear and would never be seen again, not even by his own family. As for Patrick Bahamut, he would go on to live his life and would teach the next generations, including creating the Demon Hunting Organization, until one day he would pass away from old age, but their legacy lives on in this next generation.
In the present day, in the city of New Gotham, there was a young man searching for someone through its busy streets. He was an average-sized young man for a sixteen-year-old. He had a light skin color. His eyes were a dark purple color. He had black hair, which was short. He wore a school uniform that belonged to the New Gotham Academy, where he attended and was an honor student. He wore a dark gray jacket with the emblem on his right breast pocket. He had dark purple pants and black school shoes. This young man was the grandson of both Patrick Bahamut and Robert Alistair, as both their children got together and had children. This young man’s name is Cyrus Alistair, and he is the youngest son of the Alistair household. He was in the streets searching for his older twin brother.
Where could this idiot be? Cyrus thought as he searched around the streets and the people going by.
He would eventually be stopped by seeing another young man who shared some features with Cyrus, but had some differences, for example, this young man had brown spiky hair with dark blue eyes and seemed a bit more masculine than Cyrus. This was Cyrus’ twin older brother. His name was Ryze Alistair, and he was the total opposite of his younger twin brother. Ryze was a delinquent when it came to his studies as he also been skipping school as of late. He wore the same uniform as Cyrus, but his jacket was not buttoned up, revealing a white shirt underneath.
Finally, Cyrus was a little relieved seeing his brother Ryze before him.
Ryze would notice Cyrus coming towards him, which made him sigh with an annoyed look on his face.
Cyrus says to him, “Ryze, where are you going? School is the other way. We can still make it in time.”
Ryze replied, “Sorry, Cyrus. But I think I won’t be going to school today.”
“But that is going to be the fourth time this week. You already know, mother is already pissed at you for not going as it is?” Cyrus responds.
“Fair point, I guess I quit then, as I don’t really care about going to school in the first place.”
“You already know mother and father would be upset with you,” Cyrus tries to make Ryze change his mind.
“Whatever, I’m starting to not really care about their opinions. It would be better if I went and signed up for the DHO,” Ryze would begin to walk away from his younger twin brother.
Cyrus would turn around and begin to walk away in the other direction. I am done trying to get him to go to school.
Ryze would keep walking through the city of New Gotham until he reached a place in town known as the arcade. He felt his right pocket with his right hand and felt change in there and a couple of paper bills.
He would smile, “Let’s see if I can beat my high score today.”
Ryze would then begin to enter the arcade.
Ryze would find himself in his homeroom classroom, looking confused as he thought he was entering his local arcade.
What in hell is going on here? Ryze questioned himself.
He watches as his brother, Cyrus, enters the classroom. Cyrus looks at his brother with a confused look on his face.
“Ryze? I thought you were not coming to school today?” Cyrus questioned.
“Yeah, you are right,” Ryze responds to him.
Ryze would go to the classroom door and would leave the room, but he would appear through the door on the other door in the classroom on the other side of the room.
“What the hell is going on here?” Ryze is annoyed by what is going on.
“Strange, it seems you have been cursed, it seems.” Cyrus figured it out quickly. “Perhaps you have been cursed by Nightingale.”
“Of course, that witch.” Ryze looked mad.
“She must have gotten tired of you not coming to school, so she must have cursed you.”
“I guess, so. Damn,” Ryze as he heads over to his desk, he leans back in his chair and puts his feet up.
Cyrus sits at his desk right next to Ryze’s desk, “you know. If you actually came to school, she would not have resorted to this.”
Ryze started to rock back and forth in his chair, “Yeah, yeah. I heard it like a million times by now. But I guess I have no choice now.”
They would see another young man enter the room. He was the same height as them. He had brown hair, which was long, tied in a ponytail. His skin was a light color with green-colored irises. He wore the same school uniform as they did. He wore a yellow sash over his right bicep, held by a clothes bobby pin that said “Honor Student and Class President.” He was Johan Ripply. He is a childhood friend of both Ryze and Cyrus.
“Johan, I see I beat you today,” Cyrus greeted him as he entered.
Johan chuckled, “It seems you have...”
Johan looks and sees Ryze was in the classroom as well, which was a surprise to see him there.
Ryze looks at him, “What’s up, Ripply?”
“Surprise to see you here. Have you gotten tired of skipping class?” Johan asked as he got closer.
“No, I am now being forced to come here by the Dean of the school, Miss Nightingale,” Ryze responds as he stops rocking back and forth.
“I see, that sucks,” Johan says, seeming amused.
“I think they said we had a substitute today,” Cyrus recalls.
Ryze yawned, “I guess it’s a good day for a nap then.”
“That’s probably what you plan on doing even if we didn’t have a sub coming in today,” Cyrus sighed as he heard that from his brother.
They would see the door open again as someone entered the room. They would see a man in his early twenties enter the room. He had long black hair to the middle of his back. He had light-colored skin with blue eyes that were hidden under his sunglasses. He wore a black suit with a red tie with golden stripes. He was carrying a brown leather handbag. This man was Ryze’s and Cyrus’s older brother and is the eldest son of the Alistair house. He is well known through the city as a talented demon hunter operative and has been given the moniker, ” The Sword of New Gotham.” His name is Judas Alistair.
He throws his bag on the desk like he does not care to be there, sits in the office chair, and puts his feet up on the desk.
“Judas? I didn’t know you could teach?” Johan questioned.
“Trust me, I don’t teach. Nightingale asked me to sub in today. But I think she actually wants me to babysit my brother, who been skipping as of late,” Judas voiced his thought on him there.
“She got you in this, too,” said Ryze as he heard that.
“Indeed, little brother. I think mother has spoken to her as she feels your education matters to you,” Judas responds to Ryze. “Father, of course, as he is married to her, he has to side with both mother and Nightingale. But I said it would be better if you just quit school and come into the DHO and begin your career as a Demon Hunter. Mother hated that idea.”
“Damn, so they teamed up on you,” Cyrus said to his older twin brother.
“I can’t do much anyway. I think your idea would be better, Judas,” Ryze yawned.
“Then quit school then,” Judas smiled.
“I think I need permission from a parent to do that,” Ryze put his feet down.
But before they noticed, Judas appeared out of nowhere in front of Ryze’s desk, as he was a master at using teleport magic. Judas placed down a piece of paper, which was a resignation form for the school, and which caught Ryze’s attention, as his father’s signature was on the form.
“What? How did Father agree to this?” Cyrus asked Judas.
“He didn’t. I forged his signature, and I am pretty good at it since my time in school. When I was playing hooky from school. I wrote a sick note, and I used to copy dad’s signature all the time,” Judas smiled. “I was no honor student, but I managed to get out of school the easy way.”
“Fascinating, you truly amaze me,” Johan looked at his handiwork.
“Well, what about my place of living? I am pretty sure Mom won’t take this easily,” Ryze asked.
“I have an apartment, I could bunk you in till you are in the DHO and pay me half rent,” Judas replied.
Before he could say more, Ryze began to fill out the form before him on his desk.
“I think the only one who this would hurt is Anna,” Cyrus said as he watched Ryze fill the form out.
Ryze would stop for a moment, “Damn, I completely forgot about her.”
“Man, what a terrible Esper User to forget his weapon,” Judas sighs. “She won’t be too butthurt about it. Once you get a place of your own, she can move in with you, and you can spoil her with new dresses and toys.”
“Yeah, plus when she gets older, she’s going to understand this was for the best anyway.” Ryze was about to finish the form, but before he put his pen down, he was teleported away.
“Huh?” Judas questioned as he watched his brother vanish before him.
Cyrus gave this look as he thought of something.
Johan looks at him and asks, “What is it, friend?”
“Well, could it be possible that Miss Nightingale could have predicted Judas to help Ryze out?”
“Damn, you could be right, little brother l,” Judas understood.
“I guess she was just a couple of steps ahead then,” Johan remarks.
Ryze would find himself inside a jail cell inside the New Gotham Police Department.
“What? Where the hell am I?” Ryze questioned as he had no idea where he was. He watched as a young woman entered the room outside his cell. She had long purple hair with matching purple eyes. Her skin was fair and beautiful, rosy. She wore this fancy purple dress. She is the current principal at Ryze’s school, and she is a co-founder of the Demon Hunter Organization. She may look young, but she has been alive for a long time. Her name is Nightingale.
“Well, good morning, Mr. Alistair,” Nightingale greets him.
“So this is your doing? What gives? I was in school because of you, and I was not doing anything?” Ryze tries to question her.
Nightingale would then get out the form that would be the one he almost signed to help him get out of school, “Well, this form tells me otherwise, young man. I see you are not happy at school as of late. Well, let us correct this as your mother has brought this to my attention.”
“Well, yeah. I don’t want to go to school anymore, as I think it is lame, and I would rather begin to hunt down demons in the DHO,” Ryze spoke the truth to her about his feelings.
“Ryze, you also have to think about a future outside the DHO, as there are times of peace. One day, I hope there is a time when the Demon Hunter Organization may not be around anymore. But that’s a tale for another time. Now, we are going to catch you up on all you missed for the days you skipped,” Nightingale then conjured a flame and burned the form. “You may come in now.”
Nightingale gestures for someone to come in. Another young woman who was around Ryze’s age comes in. She wore the same school uniform as Ryze, but this one was meant to be worn by the female students of his school, so it had a skirt instead of pants. She had long brown hair with pink eyes. Her skin was fair with a rose hue in her cheeks. This was Lydia Draken, and she was a childhood friend of Ryze, and her family owns multiple ranches outside of New Gotham.
“Lydia?” Ryze questioned in confusion.
“That is Right, Miss Draken here is going to help you catch up from all the classes you missed. You should be grateful to her since she has to waste her time. So, you can get your head out of your ass,” Nightingale explained to him.
“Damn it,” Ryze was annoyed by this.
They would see a man enter the room, who was a middle-aged man with brown short hair and blue eyes. He had light wrinkly skin. He wore a black suit with a red tie. This was Ryze’s Father, Raze Alistair.
“Dad,” Ryze greets his father.
“Son, I thought we talked about this. I also can’t believe Judas would try to help you. I should talk to him later,” Raze was disappointed in his sons.
“Well, sorry, old man. I would rather quit school and become a hunter. I don’t care what mother thinks,” Ryze told his father how he felt.
“Ah, well...” Raze tried to respond before Nightingale cut him off.
“This won’t get you out. I think for now we will make you think about what I have offered you.”
They would take their leave, leaving Ryze to think on his choice to cooperate.
