Summary

Two hearts drift apart, yet remain connected by a silent promise that was never spoken. Beneath the night sky, one soul returns to the memories they once shared — the quiet park, the shining star, and the feeling that love still exists somewhere between distance and time. While the other may have moved on, the narrator struggles to let go, holding onto hope, wondering if their worlds might one day collide again. It is a story about longing, unspoken vows, and learning whether one is ready to live in a future that no longer includes “us.”

Chapter 1

They say promises fade with time… but some promises are written where time cannot erase them — in the stars.

Two different hearts.

But one connection.

An angel… with its horse.

Isn't it cute?

How I thought we could keep the promise while being together.

But I guess destiny won.

We are away from each other.

But I still keep a promise

we never made.

Silent vows.

Only the heart can remember.

I keep holding on to this imagery of you.

If the world was to reverse, will there be us?

Or will it just be you and me?

At night, I sit at our favorite park.

I watch how beautiful it is.

How quiet and meaningful it was to us.

I look up to the sky.

There it is —

the star.

Shining brighter than our promises.

I kept looking at it.

All I could think of was you.

How are you feeling?

What emotions are running through your heart?

Do you even think about us?

Or have you finally moved on?

Holding on to these memories was never my intention.

But as we know,

no one knows tomorrow.

But here I am,

trying to create a tomorrow for us.

But I just can't do it alone.

I need to know where I stand.

Where we stand.

Yes… I said us.

Because there was before you, with you.

But there was never after you.

It has been you all along.

I'm trying to break our promises,

but I don’t even know where to start.

I don't even know what is what,

or who is who anymore.

You might have moved on.

But here I am,

imagining what life will be after you.

But the question is:

"Am I ready to live the after you?"

But I'm not ready.

I keep holding on to the past.

And I keep calling on those promises over and over again.

I'm even tired.

I have lost count of how many times

I have prayed and hoped

to see you again.

But I know that's impossible.

But still, stay safe.

And love right.

You are free to make another promise

with someone else.

I will be right here,

figuring out how to align our stars.

I will try to figure out

how our worlds might collide.

Obsidian: He's hilarious. Like, actually. I loved it. You're writing style is great, although you could do with a few less murmurs and mutters. I know it sounds critical, but I have the same problem and I hate it. Overall, it was one of the best stories I've read on here so far. I liked it better than those M...
