I just wanted you all to read this before entering this story.
This book is not a traditional werewolf story. I found that books, published or otherwise, within the werewolf genre were very much the same, just with different story lines.
I couldn't find anything that much different, except for the odd one or two.
So, I have written my own version of the unconventional werewolf story. There will still be clichés that are in the werewolf world, such as packs, hierarchies, the Alphas are more commonly and traditionally, a family succession but other low-ranking werewolves can take over if they find the current Alphas unworthy, the Moon Goddess, mates and heats that effect both males and females regardless if they are mated or not, for example, a male that has been happily mated and claimed can still be affected by a female going into heat and will rut that female until the heat wears off and vice versa.
Mates can also be stolen from their current mate. For example, a werewolf can challenge another werewolf for their mate; they will fight until one of them concedes or dies. This will sever the connection, but if the two original mates wish to get back together, this is possible.
A mating mark is included, but unlike in other werewolf stories, the mates can communicate or find each other through this mark; my werewolves cannot. It is more of a decoration and a feral urge than anything supernatural. Mating marks do not fade. Even if one mate is challenged and loses their original mate, the winner can either bite over the mark or choose somewhere else to bite, and if the original mate decides to come back together, the original mate can bite over the challenger's mark, but that is uncommon.
But this story will include a more wild version of werewolves, where the werewolves will not have conversations with their wolves, the wolf and the human are the same, and yet they are not fully human nor fully wolf.
