Chapter 1
Chapter 1: The Door That Shouldn’t Open
Alex sat alone in the dark, the silence of the room pressing against him like a living thing. The dim light barely touched the edges of the space, leaving every corner shrouded in shadows—just like the man himself. No one dared enter this room. No one dared cross him. Not because he asked, but because fear kept them at bay. Alex was a billionaire, a mafia boss, paralyzed yet untouchable, cold, straightforward, and merciless. Anyone who came close usually didn’t leave the same.
Yet tonight, as he sat in that suffocating quiet, his mind wandered. A thought, almost forbidden, surfaced.
"I wish… someone would care about me. Love me… without shame, without hesitation."
A tight lump formed in his throat, and for the first time in a long while, his eyes betrayed him—glimmering with unshed tears. In all his power, all his control, he had never imagined someone could accept him as he truly was.
He took a deep breath, trying to steady himself, muttering under his breath:
"No one will dare to open this door."
And then—
The door creaked open.
Alex’s head snapped up. A figure darted into the room, moving with a strange mix of caution and confidence. John. The young man’s eyes wide, innocent, yet entirely fearless. He crouched briefly behind a piece of furniture, then whispered, almost pleading, “Help me…”
Alex’s chest tightened. Anger and disbelief surged at the audacity of this stranger who dared to step into his sanctum. His gaze sharpened, dangerous, piercing—an instinctual warning. Yet John did not flinch. He did not hesitate. He stood there, calm, smiling faintly, treating Alex as if he were just another person, not the terrifying man the world feared.
Alex’s body moved almost on its own, drawn by a mix of irritation and fascination. He closed the distance, grabbing John’s arm and pulling him forward until he stood face-to-face with him.
"Do you even know who I am?" Alex’s voice was low, controlled, but deadly—a dangerous edge hiding beneath the calm.
Before John could answer, the heavy footsteps of Alex’s bodyguards echoed through the room. They stepped forward, ready to seize him, to remind him of the rules.
But John didn’t flinch. Didn’t step back. Didn’t hesitate.
And in that instant, something shifted. A spark—a dangerous, obsessive thread that would weave their fates together—had been lit.
Alex’s world, normally so cold and untouchable, had just opened a door. And for the first time, he wondered what it might mean to let someone in.
And then his guards came and let them throw away John without any hesitation...
