Welcome to a world where UNO isn’t just a game... it’s survival....

.

.

.

In the college canteen...

“Hey Nishant! What a match yesterday! Everyone’s talking about it. You should totally try out for the state-level tournament,” said a boy from another class, clearly impressed.

“Oh, thanks! Yeah, that’s in the pipeline. But I’m not ready for state level just yet,” Nishant replied with a polite smile.

Meanwhile, in the corridor...

Pralay, a guy known for his selfish attitude and deep-rooted jealousy of Nishant, stood watching him with his group.

“Boss, he’s great at outdoor games,” one of Pralay’s friends muttered, “but he’s crap at indoor ones.”

Pralay smirked. “Let’s humiliate him in front of everyone. He’ll remember it for life.”

---

The Next Day - Recess Bell Rings

Nishant was walking out of the classroom when...

“WAIT! Nishant!” Pralay’s voice boomed across the corridor.

Everyone turned to see the drama unfold.

“Where are you off to, champ? I heard you won that cricket match.”

“Yeah, you heard right,” Nishant answered casually.

“Cricket is a team sport. Anyone can win that with support. Let’s see what happens when you’re all alone.” Pralay paused, then challenged,

“I’m calling you out for a UNO match. Just you and me - no team, only brain. Are you in?”

The crowd around them buzzed with excitement.

“Fine,” Nishant said.

“After college. On the ground,” Pralay added with a devilish grin and walked off.

---

5 PM - College Ground

Everyone gathered around, buzzing with anticipation. Pralay’s friends explained the rules of UNO - but intentionally twisted them so Nishant would be misled.

Pralay leaned in. “Let’s spice things up. Winner gets glory, loser does a dare.”

“What dare?” Nishant asked cautiously.

“Doesn’t matter - you’ll know when you lose,” Pralay said.

The crowd cheered in agreement.

Nishant, hesitating for a moment, nodded. “Okay... let’s go.”

(Pralay sat with his friends behind him, flanked by two girls: Krisha and Shanti. Krisha was with him for his money; Shanti, on the other hand, was being blackmailed to stay in the relationship.)

---

A Few Minutes Later...

Nishant was clearly losing. Pralay was grinning.

“I have to go. My online lecture starts at 5:30,” Shanti said softly, starting to stand.

Pralay grabbed her wrist roughly. “Sit down. The match isn’t over yet.”

She flinched in pain, tears welling up in her eyes.

“Cry all you want. That’s the only thing you’re good at,” Pralay hissed.

Nishant saw it all. His eyes narrowed.

Moments later, the game ended. Nishant lost.

The crowd gasped - Nishant never lost a challenge.

“DARE! DARE! DARE!” the crowd chanted.

Nishant looked nervous.

“So sad,” Pralay mocked. “Get ready. Here’s your dare - you’ll get slapped by every girl here.”

“Shut up!” Nishant snapped, clearly furious.

“I thought Nishant was a man of his word. What happened?” Pralay taunted loudly, riling the crowd.

Reluctantly, Nishant stepped forward. One by one, girls slapped him.

Some hit hard, some gently. A few hesitated, but Pralay pressured them into it.

Only Shanti was left.

She raised her hand... but paused.

“Not with that hand. You’ll hurt it again,” Nishant said quietly.

Shanti froze.

(His cheek is already red... and he’s worried about my hand?)

Is he mad?

How can someone be so selfless?

“You have an online lecture, right, Shanti?” Pralay said coldly. “What’s the delay? Feeling bad for him?”

Shanti slapped him with her left hand - barely.

“Now go home, Nishant. Who knows, you might need a doctor,” Pralay mocked and walked off.

As people began dispersing, Nishant raised his voice.

“WAIT! Pralay! Rematch. Same place, next Monday.”

The crowd roared with laughter.

“Everyone heard it! Nishant’s in love with slaps!” Pralay joked.

But Nishant’s eyes had changed.

He was ready for revenge.

---

Next Day - College Library

Earlier that night, Nishant had stayed up late, eyes fixed on his phone, scrolling through YouTube tutorials on UNO.

“Okay, so Reverse flips the play, Skip skips a turn... What’s this 4+ rule?” he mumbled, trying to grasp the basic rules.

One video mentioned a rare book written by an old author who claimed to have mastered the philosophy behind UNO. Nishant’s eyes lit up.

“Wait, this book... could it be in our college library?”

Now, at the college library, he scanned shelf after shelf, hunting for that one title.

“Ughh, this is a waste of time,” Nishant groaned, lightly slamming his hand against the rack.

Suddenly, a book slid off the shelf and fell near his feet.

The title?

“UUho No”

He opened it - a UNO-based manual... but something felt off.

Just then, Pralay appeared.

“Oh, so now you’re learning UNO?” he laughed. “Don’t waste your time.”

“What are you doing in the library?” Nishant replied. “Pigs play in mud, not in swimming pools.”

Pralay’s smile dropped. He grabbed the book.

They both tugged - and it tore in half.

“Oops! I just wanted to read it,” Pralay laughed and ran off.

As Nishant stood up, he noticed something had fallen from the torn book - a glowing letter.

He picked it up and read it.

Suddenly - FLASH!

A bright light blinded him.

When he opened his eyes...

---

The UUhoNo World

He was in the library - but in another world.

Cards floated around a huge dome in the sky.

“Am I dreaming...?”

He pinched himself. No - it was real.

“Welcome to the UUhoNo World,” echoed a voice from the sky - loud, calm, yet chilling.

Everyone froze.

Nishant spun in place, trying to find the source. The blue sky above was too bright. The clouds didn’t move. Nothing felt real, but the places were similar to the real world.

“What the hell is going on?” someone whispered from far away.

“I am the Instructor of this game,” the voice boomed again. “Don’t be afraid. This is a virtual world - and this... is the UNO game. But in real life.”

A wave of panic surged through the crowd.

“Bullshit,” someone muttered.

“This isn’t happening...”

Nishant clenched his fists. His breathing had gone shallow.

“Listen carefully. These are the rules...”

“Why should we even play this game?!” Pralay suddenly shouted at the sky, voice echoing with raw defiance. “Who the hell are you to tell us that?!”

“Because if you want to return to your world - you must. This is a do-or-die game.”

---

“NOW LISTEN QUIETLY!” - this is how the game works:

1. It’s a survival team game - do or die.

2. Like the original UNO - but twisted.

3. Everyone gets 2 cards at the start.

4. Cards include:

 • Normal Number Cards - 4 colors (Red, Green, Blue, Yellow)

 • Action Cards - Reverse, Skip, Draw 2+, Draw 4+, Color Change

5. Each Action Card has a physical effect.

“Let me explain the true effect of the cards - especially the action ones, because your lives depend on it,” the instructor said.

• Reverse: Sends anything it touches backward.

• Skip: Freezes objects or people for a few minutes or hours.

• Draw 2+: If this card hits a player from the opposing team, two players from their team will instantly be eliminated - turned into cards.

The ones who vanish will be chosen randomly.

• Draw 4+: Same logic, but more brutal - four players from the opposing team will be eliminated. This card also allows the user to change the color of any object or person’s belongings.

• Color Change: Changes the color of anything it touches.

6. The effect will only work if it touches that object or player.

7. Once a team uses all their cards, they get a Shuffle Card.

8. The Shuffle Card ends the game - but the one who uses it must sacrifice something precious.

9. Everyone else who didn’t finish - gets converted to Cards.

“Oh... and one more thing,” the Instructor added, as if remembering something important.

10. Each player will receive two random cards at the start of the game - and yes, they can be action cards as well.

Now, you’re probably wondering - “How do I add someone to my team?”

Here’s how it works:

If you have a normal card of a particular color, and another player also has a card of that same color, you can use your card on them to add them to your team. But remember - only your card will be consumed in the process.

Similarly, if you have a card of a particular number, and another player holds a card with that same number (even if the colors are different), then you can use your card to bring them onto your team.

In short - matching color or number lets you team up, even if the rest of the card is different. So, choose wisely.

Cards can also be exchanged between teammates.

And remember...

“A player who is turned into a card can never return to the real world. You may as well consider them dead.”

---

“This is a TEAM GAME. If you want to win, form a proper team. Use cards... or your brain. Your choice.”

Nishant’s stomach dropped. His hand tightened around his two cards.

He checked them: Yellow Reverse and 4 of Green.

---

Back in the new world...

Nishant stood up.

“I need to find Kunal.”

Nishant walked out from the library.

Pralay, meanwhile, was already forming his team.

“Oi, Nishant!”

He turned - Kunal was waving and laughing.

“I’ve been looking for you!” Nishant said.

Kunal smirked. “So? Which colour underwear... I mean, CARD did you get?”

“Idiot, this is serious!” Nishant snapped.

Kunal just laughed. “Yesterday, every girl touched your cheek! Had fun?”

Nishant sighed. “Do you have a green card or a 4?”

“Nope. I’ve got a big heart. Want that?”

Nishant smacked his head.

“Okay, okay! I have a Red Skip.”

“Meet this guy - Vivek,” Kunal said.

Vivek, Kunal’s serious classmate, stepped in. “Yellow 2+ and Green 10.”

“If you both have yellow, Vivek should use it on Nishant!” Kunal said excitedly.

“Wait!” Nishant shouted. “Both our yellows are action cards! And he has 2+. If he uses +2 on me, I’ll get eliminated!”

“Ohhh! You’re smart!” Kunal laughed.

Nishant used his Green 4 on Vivek instead.

“Nice! Now we’re a trio!” Kunal said, since he had already teamed up with Vivek earlier.

Kunal asked, “Bro... how the hell did we land here?”

“It’s a long story, but... In the library,” Nishant said, “I found a book and a letter. Reading it triggered this world. Everyone nearby got pulled in too.”

Kunal hit his own head. “Are you serious!? We went to the library once to read Harry Potter, gave up after one chapter, and just watched the movie! You came here to learn UNO!?”

“Wooo... yeah,” Nishant admitted.

Vivek and Kunal laughed.

Vivek: “Okay, enough GUYS! Focus! We have to finish this game.”

Kunal: “Hmm, let’s go to the terrace - might see what others are doing.”

They ran to the top of the college building.

---

On the College Terrace

They peeked at another team - a team of 5 was about to use a +4 on a lone player.

“Please! Don’t!” the player begged, crying.

They used it anyway.

But suddenly - 4 players from the attacking team became CARDS.

“WHAT?!” the last remaining player screamed.

Even Nishant and his group were shocked.

“Why did THEY get eliminated?” Vivek asked quietly.

“You killed my friends!” the solo boy yelled, crying.

But that player ran.

Nishant whispered, “This makes no sense...”

Vivek: “The card user should’ve been safe, right?”

Nishant narrowed his eyes. “This must be one of the hidden rules... I’m following that guy.”

“LET’S GO!” Kunal shouted.

---

They followed the boy secretly - hiding behind trees.

He was talking to someone else.

“That might be his friend,” Vivek whispered.

“I... I begged them not to use it,” the boy said, voice trembling. “They still did... and then they turned into cards, not me...”

His friend leaned in. “Wait, what? How? You were the one they used it on!”

“That’s what I’m saying! The rules... there’s something wrong. Or hidden. I didn’t even touch the card, and they just... vanished!”

Nishant’s eyes lit up.

“Got it...” Nishant whispered. “These were the INCOMPLETE RULES!”

“WHAT!?” Kunal and Vivek gasped.

---

To be continued...

“What incomplete rule has Nishant discovered?

To uncover the truth... stay tuned for the next chapter!”
