Summary

“When the purpose of a thing is not known, abuse is inevitable.” — Dr. Myles Munroe 📖 For thirteen years, the Ilori family was defined by scarcity. Despite their devout faith, Mrs. Ilori endured a season of miscarriages that almost outnumbered their first daughter, Abigal. When they finally exhausted their hope and their funds, a double miracle arrived—only to be shadowed by a bitter loss. Now, as thirteen-year-old Abigal prepares to leave her family for the first time for Hilltop Secondary boarding school, she carries more than her luggage. She carries a promise: a fierce determination to achieve what no one expects, and to prove that the miracle of her family had a distinct purpose. A powerful tale of faith, perseverance, and the discovery of one's destiny.

INTRODUCTION

INTRODUCTION

Mr. and Mrs. Ilori had just given birth to their second child, which was also their first son. They thought they could never give birth again after the doctor’s report. Abigal, the first child and first daughter of her parents, was thirteen years old when her brother, Damiola, was born. She was overjoyous about the birth of her brother after being alone for 13 years. Abigal was in JSS 3 about the time when her mother gave birth.

Her parents were very devout Christians who always spent time with the word of God. After Abigal was born, her mother had a lot of miscarriages. At that time, the number of miscarriages she had was almost higher than Abigal’s age. They went from one hospital to another seeking for a cure to Mrs. Ilori’s miscarriages. After spending all that they had on a problem they could not find a solution to, they gave up.

Despite the fact that they gave up, they still believed in God’s plan. After they stopped worrying about the problem, Mrs. Ilori was confirmed pregnant. When they went for a scan in the hospital, she was confirmed pregnant with twins, a boy and a girl, but unfortunately, it was only a boy she gave birth to. Still angry within her spirit, she thanked God for giving her a son who would carry their family name from generations to generations. After this miracle, all the doctors believed in God and His power.

BlackKat07: Loved the characters and plot. Unfortunately after about chapter 10 the book really needs a good proof-read - lots of spelling and grammatical errors that spoiled it for me.
