Lizet doesn’t hide what she is. She tells Craig early, clearly, and directly. She has depression, anxiety, and panic attacks. She isolates. She goes dark. She warns him off with the kind of honesty most people save for after things fall apart. This is not a book about fixing her. It’s a book about someone deciding she’s worth staying for anyway.

Readers who live with anxiety, depression, or mood-related struggles will likely recognize themselves in Lizet. That’s intentional. Her episodes are written with care, but they are present, and they are real.

This book is also Kira, which means intimacy is on the page. Nothing gratuitous, it earns every moment. But it doesn’t fade to black.

She's warm, a little wild, and sharp enough to see Craig coming from miles away. She tells him exactly what she is and exactly how it ends. She's not hiding anything. He stays anyway. Chasing Tigers Through Silence and Sound is a slow-burn love story set against the California coast, live music, and the particular kind of danger that comes from falling for someone who already told you the truth. Craig doesn't want to fix Lizet. He just wants to be close enough to finally understand something he's never been able to name. She warned him. He's still there.

Some love stories start with a look across a room. This one started with a man sitting alone in the dark, listening to a stranger’s voice, and recognizing something in her music that he’d never been able to name in himself.

Craig isn’t a romantic in the traditional sense. He’s analytical, controlled, the kind of person who understands emotion better when it’s filtered through someone else’s art. And then Lizet happens to him, and none of that armor is worth anything anymore.

She warns him. More than once, clearly, at a cliff’s edge with the ocean behind her. He stays anyway. That’s the whole story, really -- not the music, not the fair, not even the concert at the end. It’s the moment a person decides that someone worth the risk is still worth it, even after they’ve told you exactly how it’s going to hurt.
