Chapter 1

The dawn had not fully broken yet. In the eastern sky, a soft mix of orange and blue created a strange, peaceful glow. In that silence, one sound could be heard continuously—tap… tap… tap…

A girl was running. Her breathing was heavy, sweat covered her forehead, but there was a strange determination in her eyes. It was as if stopping was not even an option. She had already covered nearly ten kilometers, yet her speed didn’t seem to slow down. Instead, it felt like she was challenging her own limits.

The girl’s name was Ananya. Since childhood, she had been a little different. When other girls played with dolls, she climbed trees, ran in fields, played football with boys, and often looked up at the sky thinking—one day, she would fly. Not like a bird, but as a soldier. She wanted to do something for her country. This dream made her different from everyone else.

Ananya’s father was a retired soldier. The stories he told—of war, courage, and sacrifice—left a deep mark on her heart. She understood that the uniform was not just clothing.

It was a responsibility. It was an honor.

And to earn that honor, she wanted to build her life. But her goal was even tougher—she wanted to become a Para Commander. A place where not just strength, but mental toughness is the greatest weapon. Surviving there means fighting with death itself.

Every day, she woke up before dawn, when the city was still asleep. The roads were empty, dogs lay lazily, and the air carried a cool touch. That was the time she fought with herself. Every run, every breath, every moment of exhaustion made her stronger. Because she knew—getting into the Para Regiment is not easy. It requires unstoppable determination.

Even today, her run ended at a small field. She bent forward, hands on her knees, struggling to breathe. Her stomach hurt from running too much. Still, she didn’t give up. She steadied herself.

Then she slowly stood up and looked at the sky. The sun was rising, as if blessing her for a new day. She remembered the day she first spoke about her dream.

“I want to become a Para Commander. That is my goal. One day everyone will know me. I am ready to give my life for this country. No matter what happens, I will join this unit. I will not give up,” she had said fearlessly.

That day, everyone in the house went silent. Relatives were shocked. Some said, “This is too difficult for girls. This unit is only for boys.” Others said, “Get her married soon. Let her settle down.”

But Ananya didn’t stop. There was a powerful determination in her eyes that silenced everyone.

Her father just smiled gently and said,

“Just because it’s difficult, should I give up? Never.”

His voice was firm. That day, he felt proud of his daughter.

From that day, her fight began—and it still continues. Not just with her body, but with society, and with her own fears. Sometimes her legs hurt while running, sometimes she struggles to breathe. Still, she doesn’t stop. She thinks about her dream, the uniform, the honor, and the sacrifice for her country. And with those thoughts, she starts running again.

Ananya doesn’t just run. She prepares herself in every way. She does push-ups, lifts weights, meditates, and reads books. She knows that becoming a Para Commander is not just about strength—it also requires intelligence. Because on the battlefield, every decision can mean life or death.

One day, during training, it started raining. The ground became muddy and slippery. Others might have stopped—but not Ananya. She kept running. She fell, got up again, and continued. Her clothes were covered in mud, her body exhausted, breathing difficult. But her eyes still had the same fire. The same determination.

That determination finally brought her to the doors of the selection test—where thousands of candidates compete to earn their place.

When the race began, she didn’t think about anything else. She just ran. It felt like those early morning roads had returned—the fog, the cold air, the sound of her breath. Everything faded away, leaving only her goal.

Ananya’s story is not just about a girl who wants to become a Para Commander. It is a story of struggle. A story of believing in oneself. A story of breaking social barriers. That early morning run is not just physical—it is a symbol of moving closer to her dream with every step.

After completing ten kilometers without stopping, Ananya doesn’t rest completely. She stands in the middle of the field, breathing heavily. The cool morning air touches her sweat-covered body, giving her a strange freshness. But she knows—this is not the end. The real fight is still ahead.

She places her hands on the ground and starts push-ups.

One… two… three…

Her rhythm becomes steady. Her chest nearly touches the ground each time. Her arms strain, her shoulders begin to shake—but she doesn’t stop. After fifty, her body feels like giving up, but her mind commands louder—

“Don’t stop.”

Ninety… ninety-one…

The last ten feel like walking through fire. But she reaches one hundred.

She sits down for a few seconds, closes her eyes, takes deep breaths—then stands up again.

Next, she prepares for the long jump. She runs a few steps and jumps with full strength, trying to go beyond her limits. Again and again, she tries to go farther than before.

Then comes the high jump. A rope is tied as a temporary bar. At first, it feels easy, but as the height increases, it becomes harder. Still, she doesn’t give up. She keeps trying, falls, gets up again—until she finally reaches her target.

At last, with an exhausted body, she slowly starts walking home. The sun is now fully up. Life has returned all around her. But on her face is a calm smile—because she knows that today, she has taken one more step toward her dream.

On her way home, thousands of thoughts run through her mind. Her body is tired, but her mind never stops. She wonders how much more effort she needs to reach her dream. What will the exam day be like? Will she really become a Para Commander?

Or will she stop somewhere in between?

She remembers her father’s words

“Never give up.”

Those words make her strong again. Along with fear, a sense of confidence grows within her. And she tells herself—

No matter how hard it gets, she will never stop.

To be continued…
