The Warehouse

Author's POV

The traffic lights turned green, a biker rushed through the traffic at a speed that cuts through the wind.

She was driving like a free bird flying with no restrictions. She took the bike to a road which goes outside the city, she then stopped the bike in front of an old warehouse, there was not a single soul to be seen at the radius of 5 kms around this area.

The surroundings seemed too quiet and gave a mysterious feeling but it wasn't same for her she looked at it with a familiarity. She got off the bike and started walking towards the warehouse which looked more like a haunted house.

This is the warehouse from outside.

She started walking towards the warehouse, her eyes held no softness just a coldness and sharpness, her whole body stayed alert all the time.

She walked inside, the door of the warehouse creaked open

, her foot hit the floor of the building.

The inside of the warehouse was completely opposite of what it looked like from the outside. It was too well furnished to be called an abandoned building. The floors were totally sleek and shiny, it's walls look clean and new but the mysterious vibe of it was still there.

Then she turned right towards the stairs which seemed to be going underground of the building.

Her breathing was controlled, too controlled. Her boots didn't make a single sound while hitting the floor and she seemed too used to do it. Too used to being alert, calm and invisible.

She walked down the stairs. The underground floor also seemed more like a hotel room than a basement of the abandoned building. Her face showed no sign of shock or surprise.

She took long strides towards a room and the moment her hand touched the knob of the door, Suddenly with a force the door creaked open and a fist came towards her face to land a puch. The moment would be too fast for any normal person to react but the person here was anything but a normal person. Her eyes did not even flinch; and she dodged the attack in no time; and she grabbed him by his arm turned him around with a grip of steel, now that man's face was turned back, his hand was held behind his back.

This made the man scream in a sudden pain. "Aah aah, leave my hand please. Mam I was just doing a harmless prank. I didn't sign up to get beaten everytime. Please, I am not even married yet what would you do

. You wouldn't marry me, right?" He said without taking a single breath.

The woman did not react much to his antics but a ghost of smile lingered on her lips, she didn't let it show. She left him after a second more. The man turned to face her, there was a dramatic pout on his lips, muttering something about her being a monster under his breath.

She raised her eyebrows and looked at him with an expression that seemed to say "you are not at all cute".

She then straightened and said in a voice that could cut through the steel,"stop muttering under your breath if you have to say something, say it on my face. You know i don't like this".

Hearing her cold voice the man in front of her immediately straightened his back and put a professional mask on his face.

Before he could say anything to her

A sharp voice of someone came from behind them,"Are you both done" . They turned towards the source of the voice, that voice belonged to the other man in the room who was standing there with his arms folded and an expression as cold as ice and an old still handsome face, his aura that screamed authority itself.

There were two more person in that room, other than these three, they were a man and a woman. The woman carried an amused smile at the scene in front of her while the other man who wore specs seemed done with them and their fights.

The room was full of computers and documents scattered everywhere on the tables.

All five people in the room carried different auras but a hidden connection between them.

SECRET BILLIONAIRE

W_Skye: The secret-identity premise has real hooks, and the pacing kept me turning chapters (too quickly). What I'd have loved most is more depth in the prose itself, more scenes, more sensory grounding, a bit less telling me what's at stake and a bit more letting me feel it. The bones of a much richer and ...
