Episode:1
"Perfect. New school. New faces… and lame old me.”
Aura stared at herself in the mirror.
Pause.
She looked down.
Oh no.
Her uniform trousers looked… wrong. Like really wrong. The tailoring was a crime scene.
Why does my butt look so puffy??
No—ignore that. Don’t think about it. Don’t manifest it.
She grabbed the fabric, trying to flatten it down. Again. Again.
It didn’t help.
Of course it didn’t.
“Ugh…” she sighed, defeated, grabbing her bag. “I’m going!”
She walked out like she hadn’t just suffered emotional damage in front of a mirror.
Outside, the morning was annoyingly calm.
Too calm.
Her house felt normal. The world felt normal.
She did not.
The school was just a short walk away, but her brain decided to turn into a chaotic mess anyway.
Every step:
They can see you.
No they can’t.
They will notice the trousers.
No one cares.
You’re doomed.
Great. Love my brain.
By the time she reached the school gates, her heart was already acting like she ran a marathon.
Inside, the corridors were loud.
Too many people. Too many voices. Too many existing humans at once.
She immediately shrank into herself.
A warm-looking teacher stopped her.
“Which class are you in, dear?”
Aura blinked.
“Uh… 9th grade.”
“Left wing. Room 19.”
She nodded like she understood life.
She did not.
Room 19 hit her like noise.
Loud. Chaos. Familiar strangers already laughing like they’ve known each other for years.
Nope.
She walked straight to the first empty bench.
Front seat. Safe seat. Invisible seat.
Sit. Survive. Leave.
She stared at her lap like it had instructions.
A few minutes later, the teacher entered.
Biology.
Miss Meurve.
Sweet-looking. Way too sweet. Almost suspiciously sweet.
Almost… eatable—
Stop. Brain. Please.
Aura shook her head slightly.
Focus.
“Alright everyone, let’s start introductions!”
No.
Absolutely not.
Anyone but this.
Her stomach dropped.
Why is this happening so early in the day?? I haven’t even recovered from existence yet.
Eyes started shifting.
Closer.
Closer.
Oh no.
It’s her turn.
Aura stood up.
Why are my legs shaking. This is embarrassing.
“Uh… good morning—uh, I’m Aura. Nice to meet you all.”
That’s it.
That’s all she had in her.
She sat down immediately like she had completed a boss fight.
Hands slightly shaking.
Cool. Very normal. Totally fine.
Later, the class moved to the playground.
Fresh air. Noise. Movement.
Aura stayed at the edge of everything.
Out of place. Again.
She kept tugging at her trousers.
Still wrong. Still noticeable. Still annoying.
Why is today like this.
A teacher walked past.
Miss Meurve noticed her.
She paused.
“Are you okay, sweetheart?”
Aura froze.
“…Yeah.”
Too fast.
Too fake.
Miss Meurve glanced at her trousers.
Then smiled gently.
“I can see the uniform isn’t exactly doing its job.”
There was a pause.
Aura’s face stayed calm.
Completely calm.
But inside:
Yeah. It’s not.
She nodded.
Defeated.
Lunch came faster than she expected.
Aura wasn’t even sure where she was supposed to sit until a girl waved at her.
Bright. Polite. Too polished-looking to be suspicious.
“Hey! You can sit here.”
Aura hesitated for half a second.
This is either a safe zone… or a trap.
But she sat anyway.
The table was already full of girls chatting like they’d known each other forever. Aura quietly opened her lunch, trying very hard to become part of the furniture.
Don’t stand out. Don’t say anything weird. Just exist.
A girl beside her smiled.
“I’m Lia, by the way.”
Aura nodded slightly. “Aura.”
Lia tilted her head. “Did you transfer? Which school were you from?”
Oh. Safe question. Thank God.
“Yeah. Senga International.”
Lia’s eyes lit up. “Ohhh I was there for like a year! Didn’t like the vibe though.”
Aura blinked.
That’s… interesting.
She opened her mouth to respond—
—but the conversation had already moved somewhere else.
Just like that.
Oh.
Right. I’m not part of this yet.
She slowly shrank back into silence, focusing too hard on her food like it was extremely important research.
The rest of lunch blurred into voices she didn’t fully join.
She didn’t mind.
Actually… she was used to it.
They were busy with their own lives anyway. Why would they focus on me?
School ended eventually.
Relief hit her the moment she stepped outside the gates.
Fresh air. Quiet streets.
Normal again.
She walked home slowly, letting her thoughts loosen.
That’s when she saw him.
A boy around her age, tall, lean, brown hair slightly messy like he didn’t care.
He wasn’t doing anything special.
Just walking.
But somehow—
Why does he look like that??
Stop. Aura. No.
You don’t fall for random strangers just because they have good hair.
Get it together.
She quickly looked away and walked faster.
At home, the tension melted instantly.
Kitchen. Silence. Familiarity.
She rummaged through the cabinets.
“Dumplings!”
Instant happiness.
Okay. Maybe life isn’t completely against me.
Next day
Lia waved her over in the morning.
“Sit with us!”
Aura paused.
Wait. This is… nice?
She nodded and sat down.
Maybe today will be normal.
Maybe.
Lia was… genuinely sweet.
Too sweet to be fake. Right?
But something small made Aura pause.
When Aura’s arm accidentally brushed hers—
Lia shifted away slightly.
Not rude. Not obvious.
Just… distance.
Oh.
Maybe she doesn’t like physical contact.
Or maybe I’m just weird.
Great. Love overthinking.
Later during lecture, Aura noticed it again.
Lia talking softly with her friends.
Glances.
Quick looks.
Then laughter.
Aura’s chest tightened slightly.
Wait.
Are they talking about me?
Did I do something wrong?
Is it the trousers again?
Oh no. It’s the trousers. It’s definitely the trousers.
Her stomach dropped.
Diana, another girl at the table, suddenly snickered.
Aura froze.
Okay. Yep. Confirmed. I’m the topic of conversation.
Her hands went cold.
Then Lia’s voice came clearly:
“Yeah, I really love those seashell pins too.”
Pause.
Oh.
Oh.
Not me.
Pins.
It’s about pins.
Thank God.
Aura exhaled slowly, like she had just survived something life-threatening.
I am never trusting my brain again.
At the end of the day, a stern-looking teacher entered the class.
“Vin.”
A name echoed through the room.
Aura looked up.
A boy stood near the front.
Tall.
Same age.
Different energy entirely.
And unfortunately—
Also good-looking.
No.
No, Aura.
We are NOT doing this again
