Chapter 1-The Night My World Betrayed Me
Today is the most beautiful day of my life because today I received the Best CEO award. My name is Mark and I am 26. I have everything a person could dream of—a stable career and someone I can call my home.
Krish, my boyfriend, today I went to celebrate the day by bringing his favorite flowers home. But when I reached home, the scene I saw left me speechless.
I was about to open my room door, but I had a feeling that something was wrong. A weird feeling like something bad has happened
A strange silence hung in the air, followed by a faint laugh from inside the room.
Then I heard voices.
My boyfriend and my best friend were inside together kissing.
“What would you do about your boyfriend?” my best friend asked.
“He’s just a tool for money and luxury,” Krish answered carelessly.
“What if he finds out?” Brate asked again.
“He can’t do anything,” Krish scoffed. “He’s too addicted to me. He’s nothing without me.”
My fingers froze on the doorknob, but my body refused to move.
The Krish, whom I consider my family, I am just a pawn for him to make money. And the Brate, whom I have been friends with for 8 years, is the one who was betraying me.
I pushed the door open.
“Krish… how could you do this to me?” My voice trembled.
Brate immediately walked toward me, but I shoved him away.
“We were friends for eight years, Brate,” I said bitterly. “How could you do this to me?”
“You can’t blame me for this,” he replied coldly. “Blame yourself for not being enough. For being stupid.”
Stupid, that word hurt more than the betrayal.
I clenched my fists, ready to punch him, but Krish stepped between us.
“What the hell are you doing, Mark? Are you out of your mind?”
I slapped him across the face.
“You cheated on me with my best friend, and you’re still asking me what I’m doing?”
His expression darkened instantly. He shoved me backward.
I stumbled until my back hit the balcony railing.
“Get out of my house,” I said, holding back my tears.
“My house?” Krish laughed mockingly. “Did you forget this property is under my name? If anyone should leave, it’s you.”
I grabbed his collar with trembling hands.
“How could you do this to me?” I whispered. “When did I ever treat you badly?”
Krish looked at me without guilt.
“You were just a tool for me,” he said coldly. “And tools don’t need a reason to be thrown away.” I punched him in the face.
But in the very next second, I was falling from the balcony.
For one brief moment, I thought maybe I could still grab onto something.
Maybe I could still survive, then everything went dark. I lay in a pool of blood, my body numb with pain. So, this is how my life ends. The last thing I saw before darkness consumed me were the faces of the two people, I had loved the most.
The same people who had destroyed me.
