THE GIRL WHO WAITED

Chapter 1: Thirteen

I was thirteen when I fell in love.

People say that’s too young.

Maybe it was.

But nobody can tell me what I felt wasn’t real.

I still remember the first time I noticed him.

The summer heat.

The crowded street.

The nervous smile that somehow stayed in my mind for days.

His name was Arjun.

Two years older than me.

At first, he was just a friend.

A simple conversation became daily conversations.

Daily conversations became a habit.

And before I knew it, he became the favorite part of my day.

Every morning I checked my phone hoping for his message.

Every night I slept with a smile after talking to him.

Years passed.

Our bond grew stronger.

But so did the obstacles.

Our families found out.

Not once.

Not twice.

Many times.

Phones were taken away.

We were scolded.

We were warned.

But somehow, we always found our way back to each other.

Everyone thought our story would end.

They didn’t know we were only getting started.

End of Chapter Cliffhanger:

That night, while everyone slept, my phone vibrated.

A message from him.

Three words that changed everything.

“I love you.”
