BLOOD RED ROSE
BLOOD RED ROSES
CHAPTER ( 1 )
...........................
The Murder on a Rainy Night
It was a stormy night in Seoul.
The streetlights cast shimmering yellow reflections across the rain-soaked asphalt. In the overwhelming silence, broken only by the sound of wind and falling rain, a sudden scream shattered the darkness.
"Over here! There's a dead body!"
The terrified voice of a woman drew a crowd of passersby.
The flashing red lights of police cars flickered through the rain.
Detective Kim Min-jun, dressed in a black overcoat, slowly made his way through the crowd.
Though exhaustion was visible on his face, his sharp eyes carefully observed every detail around him.
"Who found the body first?"
he asked.
A police officer stepped forward and pointed toward the victim.
"A woman, sir. We believe she's around thirty-two years old."
Min-jun knelt beside the body.
Rainwater had washed the blood across the pavement, creating dark crimson streams.
But it wasn't the corpse that caught his attention.
A single red rose had been carefully placed on the victim's chest.
Its blood-red petals seemed strangely vivid despite the pouring rain.
Min-jun's brows tightened.
"A rose..."
he whispered.
Without warning, a forgotten memory stirred deep within his mind.
A rainy night.
His childhood.
A desperate scream.
A red rose.
"Detective..."
The officer's voice pulled him back to reality.
"What is it?"
"We found a note in the victim's hand."
Min-jun took the piece of paper and examined it.
Only a single sentence was written on it.
"The roses have begun to bloom again."
His heartbeat quickened.
He did not know it yet.
But this murder would become the case that would change his life forever.
The rain continued to fall.
Amid the spreading blood, a single red rose lay silently in the darkness.
