The wishing star

Freya had woken up to the sound of birds chirping and a sweet breeze through her window. Remembering that she had a dream last night, Freya had difficulty recalling what she saw. She lay in her bed for a while trying to remember, but her mind was interrupted by her mother's call. The delicious smells coming from downstairs were waiting for her at a delicious breakfast.

After washing her face and hands, she finally sat down at the breakfast table. While a sweet conversation was starting between Freya and her mother, she remembered that she had to stop by the old town library today. Freya was going to set out today to finally get a book she had been waiting for a long time.

She quickly had her breakfast and prepared to leave the house with great excitement. Freya was that kind of girl—a girl who lived her life within the pages of books and saw herself as a part of them. She didn't have many friends in this town; all she did was sit on a bench by the seaside and practically live her life in books, as if traveling to a new dimension.

Finally, Freya set off. When she arrived at the library, she couldn't see the old, wise man named Tos Tos, who was the owner of the library, inside. She had actually named him Tos Tos because of the sound his feet made when he walked, and a beautiful bond had formed between them.

Freya started calling out after looking around for a long time. Finally, Tos Tos came from behind. He was very interested in flowers; he would grow different plants and strange things. When Freya bounced over, she excitedly asked about the book.

"Hello, I wonder if my book has arrived? You know I'm very impatient about this," Freya said.

Tos Tos replied, laughing:

"Ah, Freya, of course I know. But unfortunately, the book did not reach me."

Hearing this, Freya's excitement was replaced by disappointment.

Tos Tos, noticing this, mentioned another book he wanted to give her while trying to cheer her up. Freya, unable to hide her curiosity, asked about it, and he went to a secret compartment to get the thick book. Freya's curiosity, having never seen this compartment before, grew even more. It was a velvet and embroidered book, and Freya was seeing such a book for the first time.

Tos Tos brought the book and handed it to Freya, who hesitated for a moment. As her hand reached for the book, it suddenly opened, and the light within spread around her. The book was so bright it dazzled her eyes; Freya was so shocked she almost swallowed her tongue.

Then she quickly closed the book, and a star she saw on the cover reminded her a little of the dream she had yesterday. She had seen this star in her dream. She asked Tos Tos countless questions. Tos Tos mentioned that this book, which had been closed forever, had suddenly reopened yesterday. He said he thought the reason was her, and it turned out he was right. Freya still couldn't comprehend it. "What does this have to do with me?" she asked.

Tos Tos pointed to the star Freya saw in her dream, explaining that this was a wishing star and not everyone could see it—only those who have been granted the right to make a wish could see it.

Freya asked, "How come our wishes come true when stars fall?"

Tos Tos replied, "Yes, that's what people say, but it is not true for all stars. It is only true for this wishing star you see."

"Oh, I can't believe it! So what does this book have to do with the star?"

"This book can be considered a guide. It contains all kinds of information, but you cannot access all of it—you can only benefit from a small part. This book is a guide to a real universe, and that place is very different from here."

Freya was thoroughly curious. "So what do I need to do?" she asked.

Tos Tos mentioned that she needed to make a wish and that she only had one day to do it. After that, the book would stay closed until the wishing star fell again.

Freya said she needed time to go home and think, and hurried out of the library. At that very moment, she collided with someone and fell to the ground with her books. When she looked up, it was a girl she had never seen before. The girl she bumped into immediately got up and checked on her.

"Are you okay? I hope you're not hurt," she asked, offering a hand.

Freya, stating she was fine, noticed the girl was looking behind her in surprise. When Freya turned around, she noticed the book had opened on the ground and was glowing...
