Prologue
What is Faith?
Faith is a belief that holds steady through both poverty and prosperity, in sickness and in health.
Faith is a realm in which one finds sweetness even in muddy paths and meets despair with a serene smile.
Faith inspires us to give of ourselves generously for the sake of others, enabling us to overcome fear—even the fear of life and death itself.
Because those who hold faith believe that beyond this life lies heaven, a place where their souls will finally rest in peace. But where exactly is this heaven? Perhaps it arrivestomorrow, or maybe it’s hidden within today. It might be somewhere high above, orperhaps right here among us.
This is a tale of searching for heaven, that paradise of faith …

At the inauguration ceremonies of U.S. presidents, they place their hands upon theBible while taking the oath, clearly showing that they are people of faith. Faith is like a seed planted within the heart, and even more, it is a spiritual legacy. Can we also plant such a seed of faith in our children’s hearts?
On the West Coast of North America, in the border park shared by Canada and the
United States, stands a structure built over two centuries ago—the Peace Arch. Inscribed upon it are these words: Children of a Common Mother.
Some might say that this is simply history from over two hundred years ago. But we must understand that humanity’s existence is inherently about passing down traditions and legacies. Some people and events must always be remembered, because when we choose to abandon our history, we also lose our future.
