I Have Sinned

Mother and father, I have sinned.

Tainted are the roses in your garden.

You put me in charge to be their guardian.

Yet I have not fulfilled my duties.

They have fallen on toxic land.

With their colour drained out from their roots.

They are all dead.

Sister and Brother, I have killed.

I have killed your hopes and dreams.

You prayed for a better tomorrow.

I wished for an end to today.

You worked hard to put an end to your sorrows.

I pierced your hearts so hollow.

Bleeding they are with sadness.

Whilst mine rejoices with happiness.

Lord, forgive me.

Forgive me for I have greed.

Amid the chaos, I leaped for gold.

My heart and soul have been sold.

Sold to the seas of lies and sins of this world.

There is no turning back,

As the hearts and souls of my loved ones are in shambles.
