MAHATMA GANDHI
His Birth
Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, popularly known as Mahatma Gandhi, was born on 2 October 1869 in Porbandar, Gujarat, India. He belonged to a respected family and received his early education in his hometown.
Higher Studies
At the age of 18, Gandhi went to England for higher studies. He studied law and qualified as a barrister. After completing his education, he returned to India and started his legal career.
Political Career
Gandhi became interested in politics while working in South Africa. He fought against discrimination and worked for the rights of Indians. After returning to India, he joined the Indian National Congress and became one of its most important leaders.
