Chapter 1
âAmma, itâs not like Iâm never coming back!â
Itâs been 15 minutes since her mother was trying to convince her not to go but she was stubborn.
âYouâre going to a new place, a new world, full of troublesâ, her mother not giving up.
âYou are not going to stop me with that.â she chuckled and continued packing her things.
âItâs not like we donât have colleges right here.â
A new voice echoed the room.
Manmayi turned, there stood her grandmother.
âThere are people being successful after graduating from our country and youâre leaving this place?â Her grandmother questioned.
Deepthi wiped her tears and sided with her mother in law.
Manmayi sighed, âPaati, we talked about this. And I believe you guys agreed to this idea?â
Her grandmother scoffed and left the room.
Something was indeed different.
Will she miss all of these ?
But sheâs moving somewhere for own interests and she couldnât fight that.
Satya, the big brother entered the room with Hari, the younger brother, on his shoulders.
She is the middle child or should I say the forgotten one?
âIâll drop you off at the airportâ Satya managed to form a sentence.
âI wanna join!â Hari exclaimed.
âNO YOU WILL EXPLOIT MY SAVINGS!â Satya screamed, creating a delicate smile on Manmayiâs lips.
âYou will be the first to be thrown out of the house when Iâm rich.â Hari warned.
âDude Iâm 24 and youâre 8. And Iâm moving out anyway.â Satya reassured.
Before this fight took another step Manmayi dragged both out of it. .

After bidding her good bye.
She left with her brother to the airport.
âYou are gonna be alright? Because I wonât be there to defend you and try not to make problems with your annoying little selfâ She scoffed.
âAre you comforting me or insulting me?â She rolled her eyes.
âGood thing you canât tell.â His own words ignited a good laugh on him that followed a good punch from her.
âIâm driving!â
âI donât care!â
With a heavy heart, she walked towards the airport.
Did she cry?
Well, after all they were family.

A long flight of 10 decent hours and 25 minutes she landed in Incheon international airport.
Hectic and tired.
She wished to sleep like a child in a math class.
Hiring a taxi and informing him where to, it started moving.
For the first few minutes she was on her phone letting her family know that she was safe and tired.
Then when her eyes wandered, she saw the huge skyscrapers and the green peaking between the buildings, huge roads and billboards.
Her long hair welcomed the refreshing winds of the Seoul city.
Closing her eyes she memorized her home and her people.
The wind stopped, she opened her eyes and looked around and realized they were in traffic.
But suddenly her eyes darted to a billboard which boasted about the young CEO.
âWhat a man but canât seem to smile ughâ literal judgement was painted on her face.
She shrugged.
Little did she know, in the same thread of time, the guy from the billboard was clearly next to her car.
His dark windows didnât let her have her eyes on him and he too didnât fell right for her.
But he noticed she was different from all these Koreans, well thatâs because she was not Korean.
She had these curly or wavy, he asked himself, hair and her eyes were big and her skin glowed when the sun complimented her.
She was pretty, he accepted but too busy to think about girls all in all, he turned his head towards his screen.
Busy again.
âHere we areâ the taxi driver reassured her.
She jumped out paid him and thanked him too.
Dragging all her luggage to a studio apartment will be the second toughest thing she did after convincing her Amma and Appa to let her go to a different country.
Jumping right into the bed, she didnât even care to change or even organize the luggage, too tired for all those, she slept, like a school student in a math class.
Peaceful and effortless.
