Chapter 1: The Boy Who Wouldn't Leave
Campus halls buzzed with Friday chaos when Kaito Nakamura—class frat bad boy with messy black hair wild from parties, tattoos peeking beneath rolled sleeves, and a cocky grin that hid a desperate obsession—locked onto Rei Aizawa again. The ice-cold honor student never cracked a smile, an emotionless wall of rude glares and cutting remarks.
Everyone knew Rei didn't care about anyone. He walked with his head held high, books clutched against his chest like shields, ignoring Kaito's constant attempts to get his attention.
That never stopped Kaito.
He trailed after Rei like a fool, sometimes "accidentally" brushing against his bag just for a reason to speak.
"Hey, you dropped this."
Rei glanced at Kaito's empty hand.
"I didn't."
The words were sharp and dismissive.
Kaito's cheeks flushed anyway.
"Right. Maybe it was someone else."
With a cold stare, Rei turned and continued down the hall, leaving Kaito standing there like an idiot.
His friends laughed at him.
Rei ignored him.
Yet Kaito kept coming back.
He lingered near Rei in the library, waited outside his lectures, and showed up with energy drinks that Rei either rejected or walked past without a second glance. Every rude dismissal should have been enough to make him quit.
Instead, it only made him try harder.
While everyone else stayed away from the untouchable honor student, Kaito couldn't.
And no matter how many walls Rei built around himself, Kaito seemed determined to keep knocking on the door.
Even if Rei never opened it.
