Summary

.o the rest of the school, Leo is a god. He’s the charming, slick class clown who can win over any crowd with a quick card trick or a perfectly timed joke. Everyone laughs. Everyone loves him. Except Marcus Miller. From the back of the cafeteria, Marcus watches the exact moment the laughter dies down. He sees the cold, calculating emptiness that replaces Leo's smile when he thinks no one is looking. Marcus knows it’s a mask—a flawless front. But he has no proof. Then, a student vanishes into thin air during a relentless rainstorm. Paranoia grips the town, the police are left clueless, and the atmospheric dread inside the school becomes suffocating. When Marcus witnesses a terrifying slip in Leo’s golden-boy persona down an isolated basement hallway, he begins documenting everything in his private journal. Every clue, every suspicion, every shadow. What starts as a desperate search for the truth quickly devolves into a lethal game of cat-and-mouse. As the town plunges into an unprecedented emergency lockdown, Marcus and his friends realize they are no longer just looking for a monster. The monster is looking for them. Open the journal. Read the evidence. Piece together the panic before the lights go out permanently.

The Perfect Front

The cafeteria was busy as usual , Leo was in the middle of doing his tricks again. Suddenly , an announcement came on the intercom. Principal Vance started his normal everyday announcements about the rules and so on. As soon as the announcement finished Leo did`nt waste a second , he imitated his voice in such a way that the entire cafeteria erupted in laughter , he stood there taking in all the applause.

But I did'nt laugh.

I always felt a bit off about Leo. Maybe it was the perfectly timed jokes and punch lines or the cold and calculated expressions that nobody except me saw , I knew it was all a mask but i just could'nt prove it.

[DIARY ENTRY] (12/7/19)

Everyone thinks he’s a genius. Everyone thinks he’s just the funny guy who sticks it to Vance and keeps the school entertained. But they aren’t paying attention. I watched him close today. The exact moment the laughter died down, his face went completely blank. Empty. Like he was calculating his next move. There is a darkness in that guy, and the way he controls the room makes me sick to my stomach. No one else sees it, but I know. Leo is hiding something massive, and I’m going to figure out what it is before it’s too late.
