A Hidden Spirit of a Vampire

One day in New York, 2026, there was a boy named Junior. He was in 9th grade and had no friends. He preferred being alone.

When he transferred to a new school, he met two boys: John and Mike. They quickly became his close friends.

There was another boy, Billy, who bullied Junior relentlessly. He’d steal Junior’s lunch and call him names.

Then the school organized a two-week trip to a remote forest. It was beautiful but dangerous, filled with wild animals. Junior, who loved studying animals, was actually excited.

One night, Junior woke up hungry while everyone else slept. He walked to the nearby lake, caught three fish, built a fire, and fried them. As the sun rose, a girl named Hope woke up.

Junior: “Uh, hey.”

Hope: “Hey.”

Junior: “How are you?”

Hope: “I’m good. Just not in the mood to talk to anyone lately.”

Junior: “Oh. Dang. My bad. Sorry.”

Hope: “Yeah. I’m gonna go brush my teeth.”

She’s a bit rude, but I think I’ve fallen for her, Junior thought.

After brushing his teeth, Junior’s friends woke up too. He also made a new friend, Andrew.

Junior: “What’s up, dude?”

Andrew: “Oh hey. What’s popping?”

Junior: “Nothing much. Just seeing if we can hang out sometime.”

Andrew: “Yeah, I don’t mind.”

Later, they all went hunting. Junior kept glancing at Hope and her three close friends: Mia, Bianca, and Chloe. While he was distracted watching Hope, something strange happened. A spirit entered Junior’s body. His eyes turned cloudy white, and sharp fangs extended from his mouth. In a blur, he killed a nine-tailed fox with his teeth. The other campers were shocked.

Billy didn’t stop bullying him. He started calling him “foxiey.”

Billy: “Hey, foxiey!”

A few minutes later, Billy tried to take Junior’s food again.

Hope: “Hey, you! Why don’t you hunt your own damn meat and leave him alone?”

Billy: “Lucky you, foxiey.” He stormed off to find food.

Junior: “Thanks… uh, whoever you are.”

Hope: “Just learn to stand up for yourself.” She rolled her eyes and left to find water.

Junior secretly followed her. He found Hope sitting alone, holding a photo and crying. It was a picture of her mom.

Junior: “Sorry to bother you, but why are you crying?”

Hope: “Were you following me?”

Junior: “Yeah… I mean no. Can you please tell me why you’re crying?”

Hope: “I just miss my mom.”

Junior: “Oh, okay. But you’ll see her. Only five days left of the trip.”

Hope: “You don’t understand. She’s gone forever.”

Junior: “Oh… I see. I’ll give you some time alone.”

Hope: “No, don’t go. Please keep me company.”

Junior: “Okay. You sure?”

Hope: “Yeah, I’m sure. What’s your name, by the way?”

Junior: “Uh, my name’s Junior. But everyone calls me foxiey now, because of what I did earlier.”

Hope: “Okay. Well, my name’s Hope. Nice to meet you, foxiey. Bye, and thanks for keeping me company.”

The moment Hope left, Billy and his crew showed up.

Billy: [Grabbing him by the hair] “Hey, foxiey. You thought you got away with it? Your little girlfriend isn’t here to help you now. Boys, hold him.”

Billy hit Junior like a punching bag. Junior cried for a few seconds — then his eyes went cloudy white again. He started laughing like he was insane and whispered one word:

Foxiey: “Run.”

Billy: “Look who’s telling me to run. The crying baby foxiey.”

Suddenly, foxiey vanished and reappeared behind Billy. He kicked Billy so hard that Billy nearly died. His crew ran away. Then foxiey returned to normal, confused about what he’d just done.

Mia: “Hey, foxiey.”

Junior: “Uh, hey. And you are?”

Mia: “My name’s Mia. I wanted to know if we can spend the day together.”

Foxiey: “Nah, I’m not interested.”

Mia: “Oh. Why? Ain’t I pretty?”

Foxiey: “Nah, girl, it’s not like that. It’s just… I have a girlfriend.”

Mia: “Who’s your girlfriend?”

Foxiey: “None of your business.”

As it got dark, they built a fire and sat in a circle. Everyone enjoyed it except Junior. He sat by the lake with his shirt off, letting the cold hit him. Hope asked Mike if he’d seen Junior.

Mike: “Nah, I haven’t seen him. He’s completely changed. He’s living like a vampire. Why are you asking? Do you have feelings for him, huh?”

Hope: “Nah, I don’t.”[Blushing]

Suddenly, a violent storm hit. Rain poured down like never before. A tornado formed, but Junior kept sitting by the lake like nothing was happening.

John: “Guys, where’s Junior?”

Mike: “Oh dang. He’s still outside in the storm and it’s dangerous. Let me go check on him.”

Bianca: “No, Mike, don’t. It’s too dangerous.”

Mike: “I’ll do anything to save my best friend.”

John: “I’m coming with you.”

Hope: “Me too.”

Mia: “Me three.”

Chloe: “Me one”

They went to find Junior. They got lost in the dark and ended up near the mountains. There, they saw a werewolf with glowing reddish-blue eyes. Everyone was scared except Mike. The wolf tried to attack Chloe, but Mike threw a stone at it. It chased Mike. Then John threw a stone, and it chased John. Junior helped by throwing a stone too. The wolf got confused and dizzy from running in circles.

Mike: “Nice job, guys.”

Then they saw someone running down the mountain like a ninja. It was Andrew.

Andrew: “Hey guys, what are you doing out here? Are you lost too?”

Hope: “Yeah, we’re lost too.”

Chloe:no we're lost three

Junior: “Let’s find shelter before we catch a cold from this rain.”[Facepalming]

They gathered wood and leaves to build a tent. The rain got worse and destroyed their shelter. Mike spotted an abandoned truck.

Mike: “Guys, I found a truck. The engine’s damaged, but let’s get inside. We’ll fix it when the rain stops.”

Inside, they turned on the lights. The truck was empty. It had 12 rooms: a kitchen, two living rooms, one bathroom, and eight bedrooms.

The rain stopped. Mike went to fix the engine. As he finished, a mountain goat attacked him. Chloe hit it with a frying pan and knocked it out. It was pitch dark outside, but Junior could see clearly, like it was daytime.

They brought the goat inside to cook it. While everyone ate together, Junior took his food to his room. He liked the dark and didn’t turn on the light. Hope came to check on him.

Hope: “Um, can I come in?”

Junior: “Yeah, you can.”

Hope: “Why are you sitting in the dark?”

Junior: “I’m used to it.”

Hope: “Okay. What made you like sitting in the dark?”

Junior: “I don’t know. I just like being in the dark.”

Hope: “I’m gonna go check on the others.”

Suddenly, another mountain goat landed on top of the truck. John was terrified. Luckily, Andrew had a tranquilizer gun. Mike took it and shot the goat, putting it to sleep.

Exhausted, they all went to sleep. Junior woke up hungry in the middle of the night. He climbed onto the roof of the truck to look at the stars.

Hope woke up too, thirsty. She noticed Junior’s door was open and he wasn’t inside. She found him on the roof.

Hope: “What are you doing up there all alone?”

Junior: “I just wanted some fresh air.”

Hope: “Okay. Um, do you want some cocoa?”

Junior: “Yeah, that sounds refreshing.”

Hope made cocoa for both of them and grabbed a blanket because she was cold. She joined him on the roof.

Hope: “Here’s your cocoa.”

Junior: “Thanks.”

They drank their cocoa and watched the stars.

Hope: “It’s almost morning. Let’s get some sleep.”

Junior: “Okay. Thanks for the cocoa, by the way.”

Hope: “You’re welcome.”

At 06h00 Andrew woke up and went hunting. He returned with food, and they all had breakfast together. Junior and Hope sat together, exchanging glances.

After breakfast, they explored the area. Junior finally worked up the courage to take Hope’s hand. She smiled, and they walked hand-in-hand.

That night, around the campfire, Junior turned to Hope. His eyes locked on hers.

Junior: “Hope, from the moment I met you, I knew you were different. You’re strong, beautiful, and kind. I feel like I can be myself around you, even when I’m different.” He took a deep breath. “I really like you, Hope. Would you like to be more than friends?”

Hope’s eyes sparkled, and she smiled.

Hope: “I’d like that.”

Junior’s heart skipped a beat, and they shared a romantic kiss under the stars. The others cheered, and they all celebrated together.
