Chapter 1: The Girl Who Loved the Sky
"While other children dreamed of fairy tales and princesses, Mila Hayes dreamed of fighter jets and endless skies"
Mila Hayes was only seven years old when she first fell in love with the sky.
Most children spent their afternoons watching cartoons or playing with toys. Mila did those things too, but nothing fascinated her more than the sight of an airplane soaring through the clouds.
Whenever she heard the distant roar of an engine above her, she would immediately run outside.
Her eyes would search the endless blue sky until she found it.
And then she would watch.
She would watch until the aircraft became nothing more than a tiny dot and disappeared into the horizon.
No matter how many times she saw it, the feeling never changed.
It filled her with excitement.
With wonder.
With hope.
There was something magical about the sky that she couldn't explain.
Something that made her feel as if she belonged there.
As the years passed, her fascination slowly turned into a dream.
A dream that became a part of who she was.
Whenever someone asked what she wanted to be when she grew up, her answer was always the same.
"I want to join the Air Force."
Some people smiled.
Some laughed.
Others told her she should think of something more realistic.
But Mila never listened.
For her, it wasn't just a childhood wish.
It was her future.
She collected pictures of fighter jets.
She read articles about pilots.
She watched documentaries that most children found boring.
While her friends talked about movies and celebrities, Mila spent her time learning about aircraft and military aviation.
Every new thing she learned made her love the dream even more.
School became important to her because she believed every good grade brought her one step closer to wearing that uniform.
Her teachers admired her determination.
Her family believed in her.
And every achievement strengthened her confidence.
The future seemed clear.
One day, she would stand proudly in uniform.
One day, she would serve her country.
One day, she would finally touch the sky she had loved for so many years.
At least, that was what she believed.
Because at seven years old, Mila Hayes didn't know that dreams could break.
She didn't know that life could change because of something completely beyond her control.
And she certainly didn't know that one day, a simple eye test would shatter everything she had planned for her future.
But that day was coming.
And when it arrived, it would change her life forever.
