Chapter:1 The marked

Noah was just a young boy, but he had never lived like the others.

Since birth, a strange black mark had covered part of his right hand. The people of the village feared it. They whispered that he was cursed. Some even called him a monster.

No one wanted to play with him. No one wanted to be his friend.

Noah grew up alone.

The only person who ever showed him kindness was Elara, the wife of the village chief. She treated Noah as if he were her own son. She fed him, protected him, and loved him when nobody else would.

To Noah, she was the closest thing he had to a mother.

Years passed, and life remained peaceful in the small border village of Valoria.

Until the day everything changed.

One cold evening, the sound of war horns echoed across the valley.

Soldiers from a neighboring kingdom stormed into the village.

Homes were burned.

Families were slaughtered.

The peaceful village was consumed by fire and screams.

Noah was inside the chief's house when the soldiers arrived.

A soldier raised his sword and charged toward him.

Before the blade could strike, Elara stepped in front of Noah.

The sword pierced her instead.

She collapsed to the ground.

"Noah... run..." she whispered with her final breath.

The light faded from her eyes.

For a moment, the world stood still.

Noah stared at her lifeless body.

Something inside him broke.

A wave of rage exploded through his chest.

Without thinking, he attacked the soldiers. He fought wildly, driven by grief and fury. But there were too many of them.

Realizing he would die if he stayed, Noah turned and ran.

He ran through the burning village.

He ran through the forest.

He ran until he could no longer hear the screams.

Deep within the mountains, he discovered the entrance to a dark cave.

With nowhere else to go, Noah stepped inside.

Days passed.

Then weeks.

With little food and almost no water, he wandered deeper into the endless darkness.

The cave seemed to stretch forever.

At last, after what felt like an eternity, Noah reached a hidden chamber.

In the center of the chamber stood an ancient stone pedestal.

Resting upon it was a small black fragment.

The moment Noah saw it, the strange mark on his hand began to glow.

A cold voice echoed through the darkness.

"The Crown has found its bearer."

Noah froze.

The fragment slowly rose into the air.

And the darkness around him awakened.
