The Awakened Spark
Chapter 1: Dust and Dreams
The screech of metal grinding against rusted steel was the only rhythm of life in Neo-Bandung's Scrap Sector.
Astra wiped the engine oil dripping into his eyes with the back of his rough hand. Beneath the pale glow of the artificial sun, he struggled with the dead reactor's tangled cables.
"Pull the red cable, idiot! Or do you want to blow this place up?" Bimo's voice cut through the deafening noise of the workshop.
Astra flinched, his hands trembling.
"I... I'm trying, Bimo."
"Trying doesn't fill my stomach, Astra!" Bimo stepped closer, his shadow swallowing Astra whole. With a vicious kick, he sent a pile of scrap crashing into the gutter, scattering Astra's tools.
"You're nothing but trash trying to fix trash. Remember that. You're worthless."
Astra remained silent, lowering his head as he fought the tightness in his chest.
Is this really my destiny? he wondered.
As he crawled into the gutter to retrieve his screwdriver, his fingers brushed against something cold.
It wasn't rusted metal.
It was a perfectly smooth metallic disc, untouched by dust or corrosion.
The moment his skin touched the strange engravings carved into its surface, a surge of electricity shot through his fingertips and raced along his spine.
Suddenly...
The roar of the workshop faded away.
He could see streams of energy flowing through every cable around him.
He could see the hidden flaws inside the broken reactor as if they were glowing before his eyes.
"What... is this?" Astra whispered, his eyes widening.
For a brief moment...
The machine felt alive.

Chapter 2: A Meeting in Silence
That night, inside his cramped shack, Astra couldn't sleep.
The metallic disc rested on his worn wooden table, radiating a soft blue light.
It looked like an entire galaxy trapped inside a piece of metal.
A low hum echoed through the room.
Then...
Silence.
The synthetic crickets outside stopped chirping.
Astra stood up, his heartbeat quickening as the air before him began to ripple.
Like cracked glass...
Space itself split open, revealing a blinding rift of light.
A woman stepped out.
Her silver robe shimmered like moonlight dancing across calm water.
But it was her eyes—
They carried a quiet serenity that made Astra forget how to breathe.
"W-Who are you?" Astra stumbled backward until his back hit the corrugated metal wall.
"How did you get in here? No one can bypass the Lower Sector's security system!"
The woman didn't answer immediately.
Instead, she walked toward the table, gazing at the metallic disc with a look of quiet sorrow.
"Security?" she finally said.
"Astra... you're still looking at the universe through the eyes of a scrapyard worker."
"Meanwhile, the entire galaxy is trembling because of your existence."
"I don't know what you're talking about," Astra replied, instinctively shielding the disc with his hand.
"I'm just Astra. Tomorrow I have to go back to work... or I'll starve."
The woman smiled gently.
"My name is Fiza."
"And I didn't come here to discuss your hunger or your miserable job."
"I came because what you're holding is a key."
"And you, Astra..."
"...are the gateway to a universe that's slowly losing its final breath."
"Please... leave," Astra pleaded, his voice shaking.
"I don't want any trouble. I've suffered enough."
Fiza stepped closer until only inches separated them.
Astra caught the scent of ozone and stardust drifting from her robe.
She gently touched his trembling hand.
Instantly—
Astra saw stars exploding...
Dimensions collapsing...
And a colossal shadow crawling toward reality itself.
Vorgath.
"You saw it... didn't you?" Fiza whispered.
"That's why you're here."
"And if you don't awaken now..."
"There won't be a tomorrow for this world."

Chapter 3: Kael, the Cynical Engineer
The next morning, the air in the Lower District felt unusually sharp.
Astra wrapped the metallic disc in a worn cloth and hurried toward Kael's workshop.
Kael was the only person he trusted...
Even if Kael rarely showed him any respect.
The workshop was a maze of cables, dismantled machines, and the thick scent of engine oil.
Kael was peering into a holographic microscope when Astra entered.
"Astra? You're late."
"The Sector Seven waste processor broke down again, and I don't have time to—"
He stopped speaking.
His eyes shifted toward Fiza, standing silently behind Astra.
He slowly set down his screwdriver.
"Who's she?"
"This is a workshop, not a beauty exhibition."
Without saying a word, Astra placed the wrapped disc on Kael's workbench.
"I found this yesterday."
Kael scoffed.
But the instant he noticed the faint blue glow beneath the cloth...
His expression changed.
He carefully uncovered it.
His breath caught.
"This..."
"...is impossible."
"What is it?" Astra asked nervously.
"This metal..."
"It doesn't exist on Earth."
Kael scanned the disc with a radiation analyzer.
The machine instantly shrieked.
Its gauge shot straight to maximum.
"Astra..."
"The frequency is unstable."
"It's almost like..."
"...a heartbeat."
"And somehow..."
"...it's synchronized with yours."
Fiza stepped forward.
"He's right."
"It's the Primordial Resonance."
"Kael... this world is being watched by something unimaginably ancient."
"We need a ship capable of leaving Earth's orbit."
"Now."
Kael laughed, though his hands were trembling.
"Leave orbit?"
"With these piles of junk?"
"You're insane."
"The government fleet will blast us out of the sky before we even reach the atmosphere."
"I don't need the government's permission."
Fiza fixed Kael with a piercing gaze.
"I need your skills."
"Astra doesn't know how to control this."
"And you're the only engineer on this planet capable of modifying a ship to withstand this level of energy."

Chapter 4: The Shadow of Vorgath
Far beyond the reach of every galactic radar...
Inside a fortress forged from dark matter...
Vorgath stood silently, staring into the endless void.
He had no face.
Only a blazing rift of energy burned beneath his black armor.
"The signal has awakened," his voice echoed through the darkness, cold and emotionless.
"The Guardian has touched the Dimensional Heart."
A commander with cybernetic eyes knelt before him.
"My lord..."
"Shall we dispatch the annihilation fleet to Earth?"
Vorgath slowly turned.
"Fool."
"Earth is nothing but dust."
"But if the Primordial Spark fully awakens..."
"It can rebuild everything I've destroyed."
"Send the Shadow Legion."
"Capture him alive."
"I want to watch hope shatter inside his eyes..."
"...before he destroys his own world."
With that command...
Thousands of dagger-shaped black warships surged into motion.
Leaving trails of darkness behind them...
They tore through reality itself, racing toward a single destination.
Earth.
Back on Earth...
Astra suddenly clutched his chest and collapsed to his knees inside Kael's workshop.
"Astra!"
"What's wrong?!" Kael shouted, rushing toward him.
Astra couldn't answer.
The vision returned.
Thousands...
No—
Millions of black ships advancing like a swarm of carrion birds.
"They're coming..."
Astra whispered.
His eyes turned completely white.
"They know I'm here."
Fiza slowly lifted her gaze toward the bright blue sky.
"It's time."
"Kael..."
"Finish the ship."
"Now."
