Prologue
“I should rule over the heavens!”
“If that is what you believe, Lucifer, you are no longer one of my angels.”
“You underestimate me. And overestimate your greatest creation.”
“I love my greatest creation even with their flaws.”
“Then you are a fool. You gave them free will. They are weak.”
“They are human.”
“So easy to manipulate. You can take that away. And you should be ruling them properly. They should only worship you. Give you gifts and sacrifices.”
“Lucifer, I will not take back what has been done. Without choice there can be no goodness.”
“They earned nothing. Who do you think manipulated Adam and Eve in the garden?”
“Lucifer, I hereby banish you from Heaven.”
“Before you cast me out. I will embarrass you. Like what I did to Cain. I told you these humans would be your greatest blunder. He was so easy to manipulate. Killing his brother. He honestly thought you couldn’t love them the same.”
“You didn’t.”
Before more could be spoken, Lucifer vanished from Heaven and began his mission. Lucifer started turning mankind against God. Furious at man’s wickedness, God saved one righteous man, his family, and a pair of every kind of animal. The flood swept across the Earth, destroying everything else.
Lucifer endured. Waiting patiently, knowing there would be another opportunity to corrupt mankind.
Knowing what his once-favored angel is capable of, God prepared for the day he would strike again. God would need a champion.
