Chapter 1 - The Beginning

"They say an invisible red string connects two souls destined to meet. It may stretch, it may tangle, but it can never be broken."

Ramya had never believed in fate. To her, life was simple. If you worked hard, success would follow. If you loved someone, you should have the courage to express it. Waiting for destiny to change everything sounded like nothing more than a beautiful fairytale. But sometimes, life had its own plans. Long before she realized it, fate had already begun weaving a story she could never escape.

The morning sun bathed the college campus in a warm golden glow as students hurried through the entrance gate. Some rushed to their classrooms with unfinished assignments in their hands, while others laughed together beneath the old rain trees that lined the pathway. The campus was alive with excitement, just like every other day.

Walking through the crowd was Ramya, a second-year B.Tech Information Technology student. She was known for her gentle smile, calm nature, and willingness to help anyone in need. Her friends admired her kindness, and her teachers appreciated her sincerity. To everyone around her, she was simply an ordinary college student living an ordinary life.

"Ramya!"

A familiar voice called from behind.

Ramya turned around and smiled as Meera came running toward her, slightly out of breath while clutching two notebooks against her chest.

"I knew I'd find you here," Meera said with a grin.

Ramya folded her arms playfully. "You're late again."

"I woke up on time," Meera defended herself.

"Then what happened?"

"I couldn't decide which dress to wear."

Ramya burst into laughter, shaking her head. "You'll never change."

The two best friends walked toward their classroom, chatting about assignments, upcoming seminars, and the endless projects waiting for them. Their friendship was effortless. Wherever Ramya was, Meera was never too far away.

As they stepped inside the classroom, the students quickly settled into their seats. A quiet silence filled the room the moment the classroom door opened.

"Good morning, students."

The calm, deep voice immediately caught everyone's attention.

Professor Ragavan entered the classroom carrying a stack of books. Young, disciplined, and respected throughout the department, he had earned a reputation as one of the strictest lecturers on campus. His classes were always silent, not because students feared him, but because they respected him.

Ramya politely greeted him before opening her notebook. Beside her, Meera slowly lifted her eyes toward the front of the classroom.

For just a moment, she forgot everything around her.

Her eyes remained fixed on Ragavan.

It wasn't admiration anymore.

It wasn't curiosity either.

It was a feeling she couldn't understand.

Realizing what she was doing, Meera quickly looked away.

She believed no one had noticed.

But someone had.

Ramya.

She quietly glanced at her best friend before looking back at the professor. A faint smile appeared on her lips. She didn't ask any questions. Not yet.

Some secrets needed time before they were spoken aloud.

Neither of them knew it then...

But that ordinary morning would become the beginning of a story that would change all of their lives forever.
