Chapter 1
Undefined, Yet Ours
Some stories never begin with love. They begin with ordinary conversations, random messages, and two strangers slowly becoming familiar with each other. That is how our story started.Years passed, and what began as simple friendship quietly turned into something much deeper. For four years, he stayed in my life. Not as someone temporary. Not as someone ordinary. But as a person whose presence slowly became part of my everyday world. He trusted me in ways people rarely trust others. He told me about his family problems, responsibilities, work stress, salary, and the struggles he usually carried silently. And every time he shared those things, I listened. Not because I had to.But because somewhere along the way, his happiness and pain had started mattering to me.The strange thing was…He never clearly showed what place I had in his heart.Sometimes he flirted.Sometimes he joked.Sometimes he acted like I meant nothing unusual. And yet, he always came back. There were moments when our bond crossed boundaries and became more intimate than friendship. But even after that, the connection survived.Years kept passing. And my feelings quietly changed.I started noticing every little thing about him.His moods. His habits. His timing. His silence.Even a late reply could make me wonder what was happening in his world.I never needed promises from him.I never needed a relationship.I only wanted one thing.I never wanted to lose him.One day I finally gathered courage and tried understanding what I truly meant to him.But like always, he avoided giving clear answers. He hid behind jokes.Changed his words.Made me wonder whether he felt something he simply refused to say aloud.Yet despite all confusion, one truth always stayed. He trusted me.And trust is not given easily.Even when marriage proposals came into his life, he rejected many of them.Maybe he was not ready.Maybe life had different plans.Or maybe some stories are never meant to be simple. Our story was never clearly friendship.Never clearly love.Never fully defined. But somehow…It was real. And maybe that is what makes some connections beautiful. Not having answers. But knowing that even without labels, someone still holds an important place in your world. Some stories are not meant to be understood. Some stories are simply meant to be felt. And ours…remains beautifully undefined.
