Summary

In "7 Crystals," we actually read the diary of the book's main character, Eleanora. On her way to the mansion she inherited from her grandmother, a mysterious old woman gives Eleanora an intriguing medallion. As the seventeen-year-old girl tries to understand what it is, her life suddenly changes with the letters she finds in the mansion's attic. Now the time has come for her to learn the truth. According to legend, long, long ago, a dark mist — fed by every evil imaginable — seized control of the realm of the living. Whenever darkness outweighed happiness in someone's life, that darkness would claim them, never releasing its grip until the day they died. But one day, seven pure souls united their powers and, using seven crystals, managed to defeat the dark mist. Thus the balance of the universe was restored once more through the seven crystals. That is, until one of the pure souls who wielded a crystal let darkness seize their heart... That was when the balance of the crystals was broken, and they vanished without a trace. Once the crystals disappeared, the dark mist began to spread once again. This is exactly where the story begins. The medallion the old woman gave Eleanora can open a portal for interdimensional travel. For centuries, no one has been able to unravel the medallion's secret. Eleanora's true mission is to use the medallion to find the lost seven crystals — and the pure souls who can wield them — in order to stop the dark mist. The mysterious letters she found in the attic will guide her on this journey.

Introduction

Autumn’s crimson hues merged with the melancholy serenade of the rain... The scent of earth, scattered all around, danced with the breeze. I was walking home, feeling the rustle of leaves beneath my feet. As my steps kept pace with the final song of the leaves, my favorite tune in my earphones had caught the rhythm of my heart. Walking to the accompaniment of music, in weather like this, was among the things I loved most.

Walking in such weather carried a person into another dimension. Suddenly I lifted my head and looked up at the sky — something people in this city had forgotten to do. I felt the light touch of the breeze on my face and in my hair. Then I drew a deep breath, taking in the clean air. The magnificent sight of the sun’s rays breaking through the clouds after the rain reminded one of the value of life — yet life held cruel truths too; especially those moments when our loved ones are torn from our lives, shattering everything. Facing the reality that everything could change in an instant could drag a person into deep thought. It is precisely at such a moment, finding yourself somewhere you never imagined being, not knowing what to do, feeling as though you’ve lost yourself in the tangled labyrinth of existence — that can be overwhelming; yet within that very difficulty lies the chance to descend into the depths of knowing yourself.

Sometimes a story is simply too heavy to bear alone, knowing it belongs only to you. That is why I wanted to share it with you — a story I longed to tell. I hope that what I recount will illuminate the shadows in the depths of your heart, even in your darkest hours, and help you find your way through the chaos of your mind...

The atmosphere is set. That melancholy autumn mood is a strong backdrop for Eleanora's discovery. The diary format is a great way to pull readers into her perspective. Looking forward to seeing how the medallion and the attic letters piece together the bigger picture. The legend of the crystals has real weight.

Very good writing, and showing the imagery and showing and not telling us the readers what is going, this gives us the readers to feel what the characters are going through. I look forward to keep reading.
