1. The Novel That Should Never Have Been Published
I opened my eyes.
For several seconds, I simply stared at the ceiling. Its white, elegant, and definitely not mine.
"Uh.." there is a disoriented feeling.
I sat up slowly. The room was surprisingly comfortable.
A large bed occupied the center of the chamber. Bookshelves lined the walls. A polished desk stood near the window. There were wardrobes, cabinets, and enough luxury to support a minor royal family's monthly budget.
Everything looked expensive, everything looked beautiful, everything looked strangely old. Not antique-old. Fantasy-old.
The kind of furniture people spent three chapters describing before attending a royal banquet.
I frowned.
"Hmm.." I tought. Something felt wrong.Very wrong.
Then I noticed the name.
"Princess Lyrica Silvercane" I read a loud. It is written on a book spine.
"Princess Lyrica Silvercane"
i muttered again. Now is Written inside a drawer.
"Princess Lyrica Silvercane." I was still reading in a half-daze. Engraved beneath a vanity mirror. I checked another cabinet with same name. Another shelf with same name and another book with same name.
A cold sensation crawled up my spine "No." I stood up immediately. "No no no no." I left the room.
The moment I stepped outside, my heart sank. I stand on a circular corridor with stone walls and ancient architecture.
A spiral staircase extending upward and downward through the center of the structure. "A tower." I said amaze.
"An actual tower."
I hurried toward the stairs. Three steps later, I slammed face-first into an invisible barrier."..Ouch" I blinked.
Then touched it again. "Who is the crazy person who put a solid barrier in a staircase?" I grumbled.
Glowing faintly beneath my fingertips.
I moved toward the upper staircase, there is nother barrier. The lower staircase with another barrier. Both directions sealed.I was trapped.
"Fantastic," I muttered, rolling my eyes. "Exactly how every healthy day begins."
I walked around the floor instead.
Several tall windows overlooked the outside world, or what should have been the outside world. Beyond the glass stretched an endless sea of clouds, bright sky, sunlight, fresh air.
The wind moved freely.
Yet something about the scenery felt artificial. Almost distorted. As if another transparent barrier existed beyond the windows, separating the tower from whatever world lay outside. I couldn't explain it "I didn't like it."
I felt a foreboding hunch creeping beneath my skin."Not one bit."
Further exploration revealed another problem. Most rooms were empty,
completely empty. No furniture, no decorations, nothing.
Curious, I stepped into one and a desk appeared. Then a chair, then bookshelves, then lamps, one by one.
Everything matched what I had been imagining. I froze and backed away.
Then I hurriedly entered another room, and this time I imagined a library, and immediately the room transformed into a library.
I tried a third room, a bathhouse. The room transformed again. "Magic."
I stared in shock, actual magic. I should have been excited. Instead, I felt an overwhelming sense of dread.
Because I knew this place. Not immediately, not perfectly, just enough for a terrible memory to begin resurfacing.
A novel. A truly awful novel.A novel so bad that entire comment sections united in mutual suffering.
A novel infamous for its absurd premise, inconsistent worldbuilding, and plot decisions that felt less like storytelling and more like somebody rolling dice while heavily intoxicated.
And somehow, somehow. It still managed to gain readers. Mostly out of disbelief.
I remembered spending weeks hate-reading it. Chapter after chapter.
Disaster after disaster. Eighty-seven chapters.
"Eighty-seven." I clutch my head in frustation. And then the author vanished. With no ending, no explanation, and no closure. Just eighty-seven chapters of chaos and abandonment.
I slowly turned toward the glowing door at the end of the corridor. The transparent door. The untouchable door. The one I hadn't been able to interact with.
The one door. The one stupid door.
The one absolutely cursed door. My face went pale.
"No."
I remembered.
"NO."I shouted louder.
The tower. The barriers. The customizable rooms. The endless sky. The glowing door.
I knew exactly where I was. My soul nearly left my body. Because there was only one place in fiction ridiculous enough to contain all of these things.
One place. One novel. One cosmic mistake. I stared at the door.
Then screamed. "NOOOOOOOOOOO!"
My voice echoed throughout the entire floor. Because I finally remembered. I wasn't dreaming. I wasn't hallucinating. And I definitely wasn't in a hospital.
I was inside Princess Lyrica's Hidden Chamber.
The novel that should never have been published. The novel with eighty-seven garbage chapters.
The novel with no ending. The novel I personally mocked online.
And somehow...
Somehow...
I had been reincarnated into it.
"..."
I sat down on the floor.
Stared at the wall.
And questioned every life choice I had ever made.
Because now I wasn't just reading the novel anymore.
I was living inside it.
And unlike everyone else,
I knew exactly how terrible that was.
"This is a flopped novel that I read a long time ago..."
"NOOOO! WHY DID THIS NOVEL EVEN GET PUBLISHED?!"
After all...
I was just a victim who read eighty-seven garbage chapters and never got to the ending.
