Chapter 1
The Sand Swimmer
For as long as he could remember, Kael hated deserts.
Everywhere he went, people talked about oceans, rivers, and lakes, but Kael lived on Aridia-7, a planet covered almost entirely by endless golden sand.
His dream was to become a space explorer and travel among the stars.
One day, while helping a research team investigate strange energy signals in the Great Dune Sea, a massive sandstorm appeared without warning.
The storm swallowed vehicles, equipment, and even people.
Kael was separated from the others.
He ran for hours until he reached a giant crater that had never appeared on any map.
At the center of the crater stood a glowing black tower buried beneath the sand.
As Kael stepped closer, the ground collapsed beneath him.
He expected to crash into solid earth.
Instead...
He fell through the sand as if it were water.
His eyes widened.
He could breathe.
He could move.
He could swim.
The sand flowed around him like an underground ocean.
For years he had unknowingly possessed an impossible ability.
Deep beneath the desert, Kael discovered an ancient hidden world.
Gigantic tunnels stretched for thousands of kilometers.
Glowing creatures swam through rivers of liquid crystal.
Ruins of an advanced civilization lay buried beneath the planet.
In the center of the underground city was an enormous machine.
An ancient artificial intelligence awakened.
“Welcome back, Navigator.”
Kael froze.
“I’ve never been here before.”
The AI projected a hologram showing events from ten thousand years ago.
The people who built Aridia-7 were not human.
They were travelers who crossed galaxies by swimming through special dimensions hidden inside planets.
Their descendants inherited the ability to swim through sand.
But over thousands of years, the power had almost disappeared.
Kael was the last known Sand Swimmer.
Before he could ask more questions, alarms echoed through the city.
A fleet of alien ships entered orbit above Aridia-7.
They were searching for the ancient machine.
If they captured it, they could control portals across the galaxy.
The AI turned toward Kael.
“You are the only one who can reach the Core Chamber.”
Kael dove into the underground sand ocean.
He traveled faster than any vehicle.
He crossed continents beneath the surface.
He avoided giant crystal worms and collapsed tunnels.
Finally, he reached the Core Chamber.
The alien fleet began drilling into the planet.
The machine started powering up.
Kael realized the truth.
The machine was not a weapon.
It was a gateway.
A gateway to thousands of hidden worlds buried beneath deserts across the universe.
With only seconds remaining, Kael activated the machine.
Golden light erupted from the planet.
Portals opened across the stars.
The alien fleet was pulled away into distant space.
Aridia-7 was saved.
From that day forward, Kael became the first Sand Navigator in ten thousand years.
And somewhere beyond the stars, countless hidden worlds were waiting for him to discover them.
The adventure had only just begun.
