Chapter 1
Olivia’s POV
Eighteen years ago, my sister Lyra went missing. Now, she’s finally back with the Silver Moon Pack.
In my past life, I felt so sorry for her. I thought she’d been living like a rogue, clawing for survival in the mud, so I gave her everything. And how did she repay me? By dragging me straight to hell.
She wiped every trace of her setup, turned to my mate—the future Alpha, Knox,—and started crying those fake-ass tears.
“I’m sorry, Alpha Knox... I just couldn’t let Olivia keep dragging your name through the dirt. She’s been hooking up with filthy rogues for a long time. She doesn’t deserve to be your Luna!”
She played my mother and me until we were stripped of our titles and our money.
When we turned to my father, Bradley, for help, the man we thought was a pushover was in the pack hall, laughing his head off with his mistress—some low-rank she-wolf who reeked of cheap perfume.
“I spent twenty years playing the lapdog for you ‘high-born’ she-wolves!” he sneered, sipping whiskey with cold eyes.
“Now, this place is finally mine. Shewolves belong in the den, popping out pups. You and your mother just got lucky with a bloodline, that’s all.”
It turned out Lyra was the bastard he’d kept hidden for eighteen years.
Her “return” was a total setup to help Bradley kick us out.
But thank the Moon Goddess, I’d been reborn. I was back to the exact day I’m driving Lyra home.
In my last life, I felt so bad for her that I took her straight to the mall and maxed out my black card.
I was so damn naive. I didn’t even notice her hands were soft—not the scarred, dirty hands of a stray who actually had to survive in the wild.
I still remember how she insisted on “rescuing” some disgusting rogue right before my mating ceremony.
“Olivia, he’s homeless! He’ll freeze to death if we don’t help him!”
I tried to be patient. I told her outsiders were a threat.
But she went behind my back, let him in, and drugged me with something that paralyzed my wolf.
That night, I was helpless. I was brutally assaulted while my wolf screamed in my head, unable to shift.
When I tried to tell the Enforcers, Lyra played the innocent.
“Olivia, you’re the one who was putting off pheromones to lure him in... The Enforcers checked. No claw marks, no struggle. Did you just want a little thrill before the wedding?”
On my wedding day, as I stood at the altar barely holding it together, photos of that night leaked to every shifter forum online.
She acted all devastated, shaking like a leaf. “I’m so sorry... I tried to hide it for her, but my finger slipped... Alpha Knox, please forgive her. She was just lonely.”
My wolf snapped. I bared my claws to tear her throat out, but she just shrieked.
“I warned you that night! You were about to mate—why look for a rogue? Are you going to kill me now because you got caught?”
I ended up in a dungeon, tortured until I died.
My soul wandered for years before I finally saw the ugly truth.
Now, looking at this bitch in my passenger seat, my claws were itching to come out.
I wanted to rip her apart right here. But this time, I was going to peel back her mask and let her blood soak into every inch of this land.
I caught her checking out my clothes.
“Like them? I’ll take you shopping later.”
“Oh... no, it’s okay.” Lyra looked down, acting shy.
She started putting out these “sad and humble” pheromones that made me want to gag.
“These fabrics look so expensive... that’s enough to feed me for months at the border.”
I laughed to myself, gripping the steering wheel.
It was not time to blow her cover yet. I was walking her straight into the “surprise” I’d planned for this life.
When we got home, my mother, Jade, rushed out and grabbed Lyra.
“Oh, my poor Lyra, you’ve been through so much.” My mother’s voice was shaking.
“From today on, you’re the top-born she-wolf here. Anything you want, just ask!”
Then she turned to me with a warm smile.
“Olivia, take Lyra upstairs. Help her pick the best room. Make her feel at home.”
I led Lyra to the second floor.
“This is my room. If you need anything, just knock.”
“Can I... see your room?” Lyra asked, looking all timid and fragile.
