Summary

The Shadow That Was Visible "Some doors are locked for a reason. Some shadows are never meant to follow you home." Six years ago, what began as a simple family vacation to an ancestral village became the beginning of an unimaginable nightmare. Bound by an ancient family tradition, everyone is warned to stay inside until sunrise and never open the door—no matter who calls from the darkness. Someone doesn't listen. Days later, the eldest grandson, Vivan, begins seeing things no one else can. A faceless shadow watches him from silent hallways. Voices whisper his name. His nightmares become impossible to escape. Then one night, he discovers someone... or something... sleeping in his bed. As reality begins to unravel, Vivan realizes the shadow didn't stay behind in the village. It came home with them. And it has been waiting ever since.

Chapter One

The Journey Begins

The story begins six years ago, a boy lived what seemed to be a normal and happy life with his family. They were a middle-class family of four- his parents, his younger brother and him. To anyone looking from the outside, the family was pretty perfect, always smiling and living peacefully but appearances can be deceiving. Behind the walls, a shadow had already begun to grow, unnoticed by everyone.

What began as an ordinary visit to their grandparents’ village became the beginning of a nightmare. Somewhere between the old house, the silent fields, and forgotten family secrets something evil awakened. Some shadows don’t stay where they were born.

When they arrived at their ancestral village, their grandparents welcomed them with warm hugs and smiling faces. Their grandmother handed each grandchild a handful of toffees, while their cousins rushed outside, eager to play. The afternoon was filled with laughter, games of hide-and-seek, and comforting aroma of lunch being prepared. For a moment, it felt like nothing in the world could disturb their happiness.

As evening approached, the eldest prepared for a tradition no child was allowed to question.

“Whatever you hear outside tonight… do not open the door.”

The children laughed, believing it was just another old village superstition.

They had no idea…

By the next morning, someone else would be leaving the village with them.

How could Tristan have been dreaming about his mate since he was a child if Omara was already mated to someone else before him? If Kyle had accepted Omara, would Tristan ne...
