Prologue

Long before the age of Christ, there was an era of prosperity where both civilization and trade flourished. The people of that era lived in harmony with the flora and fauna around them. There was no law as we have today, yet humans respected each other. Everyone had the right to choose, be it marriage or childbirth, their sexuality, and what they ate for dinner. There was zero crime even without modern law as we have it today. Some call it the AXIAL age, while I call it “The Age Of Sages”.

There lived a king called “Chrysaor”. Those who have been to his court speak of his glory, wisdom, and strength. Some say he is made of GOLD itself. On a more realistic note, his clothing, armor, and even footwear were made of gold. As people spoke of his glory, their words evolved, and he became a king made of aurum (Au), and not carbon(C)—like the rest of us are.

One fine day, the king hosted a banquet. Why? He wanted to celebrate the birth of his heir. He invited sages not just from his kingdom but every sage on the planet. Why? He wanted their blessing for his heir. There was 1 sage for each abstract concept, such as justice, freedom, equality, honor, empathy, hardship, apathy, courage, truth, endlessness, time, paradox, consciousness, culture, democracy, trust, etc. Each sage had their own weapon, which was a gift from the gods when their tapasy(deep meditation, austerity, self-discipline, or sacred effort) pleased the gods.

“That reminds me, who or what was a sage? What kinda weapons did they have?”

For starters, all sages were once human. It’s their pursuit of knowledge, combined with tapasy that turned them into a sage. They had both Astras (divine, mantra-activated projectile weapons) and Shastras (physical weapons). Sages were humanity’s torchbearers; they helped civilizations prosper and guided humans out of the dark caves into the light of the world.

When it’s common for two people to have different outlooks on life, why were all the sages expected to agree with each other?

Turns out, the rumored KING OF GOLD was only HUMAN. He was as perfect as any human can be, not more–not less, just perfectly human. What did he do wrong?(He was rumoured for perfect judgment .)

The banquet had a great start–as time rolled– there were a few tiny disagreements.

The only fault of the perfect king of GOLD was….

Where and what were the reasons the kingdom turned into a ghost town and disappeared into the mist?

Where did Chrysaor go wrong?

He did not make arrangements nor expect the sages to be head-to-head with each other. He assumed that, as a result of their wisdom, the sages exhibit empathy to all living beings, including one another at the banquet. Historically, the consolidation of immense power rarely yields a favorable outcome, regardless of how noble or peaceful the initial intentions may be.

The sage of endlessness indulged in the banquet endlessly. The sage of equilibrium confronted the sage of endlessness for his indulgence, and it turned into a toe-to-toe battle when everyone took sides. The sage of anger was the first to summon his projectile weapon, followed by the sage of darkness. The sage of anger assumed an armed war between the two sides was a solution for the conflict. Though the Sage of Darkness desired nothing but peace and protection, he was the second to draw his blade.

As the conflict amongst the sages deepened, the banquet turned into a display of the sage’s abilities—there were spells and chants all over the room. A safe fell of the table—after the demise of Pandora, the sage of darkness kept it safe and locked. The safe cracked open, through it emerged half human hlaf serpents like creations. The room engulfed in black smog. Next second, the whole kingdom/planet got infested by what we call “soul eaters”. Good news, that created a halt to the sages conflict of diversified way of life. Bad news, the whole planet was infested.

It was like a zombie apocalypse unleashed, or should I say COVID-19, with a small catch: you could see the dark smog. Anyone who dared enter it never came back. The king’s subjects rushed to the king’s courtroom in search of refuge. This black smog kept growing as the serpent-like creatures dispersed far and wide. Burdened by his crown, the Sovereign of Gold beseeched the ancient mystics to grant him counsel. The kind king offered all the gold, not just from his treasury but also from every building and from citizens who took pride in the king’s gifts of gold in return for safety against the serpents and smog. The sages were ashamed because they let their anger get the best of them. They blamed themselves for the misery of citizens far and wide. The crack in Pandora’s box was like a volcano erupting with thick ash (smog) and lava (the serpent creatures). The sages searched far and wide for the solution. The people were all running from the smog and serpents day and night; they grew tired from all the nights of running away. The king grew restless; even with the wisest brains on the entire planet, he couldn’t find a rescue for his subjects.

The Sage of darkness devised a ritual to eternally seal the serpents, demanding their total erasure. The catastrophic spell was bound by a supreme sacrifice: the Golden King entering absolute samadhi (Rooted in sama:equanimity and dhi :intellect, it is the highest state of contemplative absorption. In this state, the boundaries between the self, the mind, and the absolute reality dissolve), trading his earthly reign for divine union and spiritual liberation to ensure the monsters’ permanent imprisonment. The kind king agreed. The souleaters got locked in a separate dimension made of gold; liquid gold flowed in place of water. All sages and the gold king entered samadhi. As time passed dust built up and turned into rocks that got carbonized. They became a part of the earth itself to create EL-DORADO.

Some sages had disciples while others didn’t. That’s how we ended up with today’s culture. We worship the Tulasi(Ocimum) plant, yet don’t know the reason behind it. Nor its health benefits. We put mango leaves at our doorway and are yet unaware of its benefits. Some people in our generation try to put 2+2 together and say we do so because a mango leaf, even after its separation from the plant, purifies air and gives oxygen, again, that’s a guess with the wisdom of what we retain in scientific discovery. We lack resources to precisely understand the reason, why our culture is our culture?. The language of civilizations before us is lost, most customs are lost, yet a few from the current civilization try to understand.

People worship rocks; now you understand why! Grandma always said be respectful—-you never know who or what is inside. Due to modernization a lot of big boulders get crushed; fossils were being dug to research and understand the age of our planet. All this weakened the barrier between EARTH and EL-DORADO. The serpents started to crawl back into Earth every time there was a barrier tear.

Why? They miss their sweet home earth. Eating carbon boosted their life span, while eating gold(aurum) reduced it.

Sages who had disciples kept trading their lives to strengthen the barrier. One fine day, everything changed. It took one sage who stood up for himself and said “I deserve to live”. The cycle of sacrifice ended. The world changed for good. Sages began calling themselves LOTUS-KIN and moved in battalions. KAMAL(translating to lotus in English) was the first sage who challenged the status quo for barrier repair. Lotus-kin now have better chants, better technology–raised barriers by planting new trees(sapling). What created the technological boom? humanity as civilization prospered since 200 BCE(Before Christ Era). Lotus-kin both protected human lives, and locked soul-eater back into el-doraro with ease.
