Summary

Lilith would die first. Determined to ensure their victory, Zalith continues growing his Kingdom, seeking the larger packs of powerful rivals. They still lack a Pandorican, though, and every lead drags them into another dead end. To make matters worse, there seems to be a rat feeding information to their enemies. Alucard works to recover more of his lost memories, hoping to find information that might help them kill Lilith. He gradually recovers his ability to wield True Speech, and when suspicion surrounding the Atheson Detainers points towards the Diabolus, the ancient voices help him uncover who may have sent the contractors to capture Caeleste children, and why. But the cost of using his ethos is taking its toll; his symptoms worsen, leaving both him and Zalith desperate for answers that no one seems able to provide. Bleeding, exhaustion, visions, and the terrifying possibility that something far darker may be involved begin to shadow every step forward. However, their hunt for answers comes to an abrupt stop when they are forced to head to Odessius, where Zalith is confronted by the most dangerous Alpha yet.
