Chapter 1
The street lamps buzzed certainly illuming a park bench sprawled upon with markings of time, moulding into the leafage and sinking into the concrete below it. It's where two sat. On the left wrapping their thumbs around another twiddling anxiously. The other half asleep, somehow functioning as he stared into the distant pond. This picture was a bleak one to paint for the mind. Unsettling in the reality of their situation. This is not a playful story, if one wishes to skip to the end there is no happy ever after. It ends with how life begins kicking and screaming.
"Lewis, she was good." one uttered to the other. "yes indeed she was" pushing the overgrown black hair from his hollow eyes meeting hers with a cold glare of indifference. They were never ones to talk especially in these ones. All they had left to do was sit in silence, finishing a six pack of beers and ponder. " the funeral will be nice I bet" the small talk was only growing the atmosphere to be more hopeless. Just when the day couldn't herl another problem the weather dragged them into the water in accord to no ones request. Posidon and his many men drowning them in sorrow as they were drowning theirs in alchoholic divulgence. This did not phase the two. They let their cloths soak up their feelings, dripping hair resembling tears they couldn't quite muster up.
"I can't believe she killed herself." the unlikely of the two spoke up. He was unusually quite in the calm collected no one can use any of this against me type way. For a scientist he acted awfully a lot like a lawyer or a criminal which in turn usually go hand in hand. This bubbling emotion was somthing he frowned upon openly admitting " I don't know what to. She was everything and she chose to do this so easily, no sighns not even a note." his voice trembling as he adjusted his hoodie strings sitting forward hands intertwined. "people do things without thinking sometimes, she went through a lot behind closed doors probably." her reassurance was faulty in a way that you couldn't quit explain as she most likely didn't believe her own words. She laid her phone flat on her lap then brought him in for a hug. His arms failed about uncomfortable with it." well get through this.
The two stumbled back to their shared apartment, in ruin and dissaray flung sheets scattered across the floor, cups in the sink and dust in the air.
Layed center of a stained rug curled up into a fetal position he snored roaring over the whole room. He twitched a flinched like a wild dog kicking. Then, sitting up gasping for breath grabbing at the fibers of the green carpet. The sweat rolled down his chin and his eyes darted landing on a slightly ajar door in the hallway calming him down imedietly. He stood up heading towards it with caution and lightly pressed on the handle. He expected to see Jaden curled up in bed, calm.
This was not how it was. She sat in a swivel chair knees tucked under her chin and staring at the wall. She was so focused into her thoughts that she didn't even acknowledge him standing in the doorframe. His concern grew as he noticed her focus though he believed not to interfere for his and her expense. " I don't get it. You know you were right. Right? She should have shown somthing. Anything." she turned slurring on her words and waving her hands around frantically. He let go of his breath but not a word came out. " I'll be okay. Just get me another drink then it's all good" she giggled pointing at the bottle he didn't know about on the desk. "where did you get this" confused. " neighbour brought round a drink and chocolate when you were asleep." he took that answer as enough and didn't mention the chocolate went. She was obviously falling apart and drink would not repair the cracks in the window. " okay you can have another but I've got a special bottle " he guided the glass from her hand. He made his way to the kitchen and filled up the cup with tap water, and looking in the cupboard to see if there was any crisps left in there.
When he opened it small yellow not fell onto the counter almost into a puddle of coffee. His eyes followed it and the bottom corner name surprised him. Mila. ' my non-biological siblings, I need to warn you that I have done somthing, I need to leave and I can't come back. Don't miss me too much xxx Mila'. Lewis covered his mouth and dropped the class as it swept off the counter top. He held onto the stove hyperventilating slightly and could not move his body paralysed. Then there was a knock battering at the door.
