The Broken Thread
Hi, everyone!
Welcome to Red Thread.
This is an original story that has been close to my heart for quite some time, and I’m excited to finally share it with you.
I hope you enjoy following Nawin and Kiet’s journey as much as I’ve enjoyed creating it.
Feel free to comment and give feedback.
Thank you for giving my story a chance.

Nawin sat beneath one of the shaded tables on campus, surrounded by his friends—Prae, Narin, and Ryu.
The second semester had officially begun, and like many students around them, nerves were beginning to settle in.
“I won’t lie,” Ryu sighed, running a hand through his hair. “I’m actually nervous. My first semester was rough enough.”
“I know what you mean,” Prae admitted. “What if this one is even harder?”
Narin nodded in agreement.
“Exactly. I don’t even know what to expect.”
Nawin simply listened, leaning back comfortably in his chair. Unlike the others, he wasn’t worried in the slightest. Every now and then, he’d offer a few words of encouragement, reassuring them that they’d be fine.
“Come on, guys,” he chuckled. “You’ll do great.”
Ryu rolled his eyes.
“Easy for the person who finishes first in almost every course.”
The group laughed.
Nawin only scratched the back of his neck awkwardly, smiling.
Then...
Something caught his attention.
His smile slowly faded as his eyes drifted across the campus courtyard.
The truth was...
Nawin Chaichana wasn’t an ordinary university student.
Since birth, he had possessed a supernatural gift.
He could see the invisible threads that connected people.
To everyone else, they didn’t exist.
To Nawin...
They were impossible to miss.
Every thread told a story.
Some were vibrant and strong, representing bonds built on trust, love, and years of memories.
Others were thin and fragile, hanging on by only a few strands.
Some were tangled, burdened by conflict, regret, or feelings left unspoken.
Simply by looking at a person’s thread, Nawin could tell how connected they were to the people in their lives and the condition of those relationships.
It was a gift so rare that almost no one knew it existed.
His parents discovered his ability when he was barely a year old.
Night after night, Nawin would wake up crying, insisting that someone was standing in his room.
At first, they believed it was nothing more than a child’s imagination.
Until they realized...
He wasn’t imagining anything.
From that day forward, they made him promise never to tell anyone about his gift.
Not because they were ashamed of him.
But because they wanted to protect him.
The world had a habit of turning extraordinary people into tools.
They refused to let that happen to their son.In life, Nawin knew one thing.
Everyone had a thread.
Everyone.
No matter who they were, no matter how different their lives looked, every person was connected by something unseen.
Until the day someone caught his eye.
And for the first time in his life...
Nawin saw something he had never seen before.
A thread that wasn’t weakened.
A thread that wasn’t tangled.
But rather...
Broken.
