Chapter 1
Chapter 1 — The New Student. April. The scorching Thai sun bathed the city in golden light. The school buzzed with excitement as a new academic year began. After a long summer break, students happily reunited with their friends, laughing and sharing stories.
The homeroom teacher stepped into the classroom. Standing beside him was an unfamiliar girl.
“Everyone, we have a new transfer student joining our class today. Please introduce yourself.”
The girl took a step forward.
Her school uniform fit her perfectly, and her calm expression showed not the slightest sign of nervousness.
“My name is Araya Chantarat. I hope we can all get along.”
Whispers immediately spread across the classroom.
“She’s so pretty…”
“She looks like a model.”
“Maybe she transferred from another city.”
Ignoring the curious stares, Araya quietly walked to an empty seat by the window at the back of the classroom.
As she sat down, someone immediately caught her attention.
Li Zhen Yu.
Unlike everyone else, she wasn’t laughing or talking.
She simply sat in silence, staring out the window.
“Why is she all alone?” Araya wondered.
The bell rang, signaling the start of the break.
Within seconds, Araya found herself surrounded by curious classmates.
“Where are you from?”
“What are your hobbies?”
Questions came one after another.
Suddenly, the class’s top student, Nalin, stood up from the front row.
“Have you all never seen a new student before? Give her some space!”
The jealousy in her voice was impossible to miss.
The students reluctantly backed away.
Araya looked at Zhen Yu once again.
She was still sitting alone, as if no one else in the room existed.
After school, the students slowly began leaving for home.
Araya finally decided to introduce herself to the mysterious girl.
As she walked past the school sports field, she heard loud laughter.
Looking over, she saw three boys surrounding Li Zhen Yu.
“Hey, all alone again?”
“Does anyone even care about you?”
“Don’t cry. You’ll only make us laugh harder.”
The boys continued mocking her without mercy.
Zhen Yu remained silent.
She clenched her fists tightly, trying her hardest not to cry.
Araya couldn’t stand watching any longer.
She walked straight toward them and stepped in front of Zhen Yu.
“That’s enough.”
The boys exchanged confused glances.
“And who are you?”
“Stay out of this.”
One of them smirked.
“What? Are you seriously protecting this loser?”
The next second, Araya lost her patience.
She threw a punch straight into the boy’s face.
His name was Kin.
Holding his cheek, he stared at her in disbelief.
“…Let’s go.”
Without another word, Kin and his friends walked away.
Only the two girls remained on the sports field.
Araya slowly approached Zhen Yu and gently wiped the tears from her face.
“Are you okay?”
For the first time, Zhen Yu looked directly into Araya’s eyes.
There was so much pain and loneliness in her gaze that Araya’s heart tightened.
She simply nodded.
The two girls sat down on a bench beside the sports field.
For a long time, they talked about their lives, their dreams, and everything they had been carrying inside.
Neither of them realized it then…
That day would become the beginning of a story that would change both of their lives forever
