The Cry of Death
The Cry of Death
Chapter 1 — The Scream
Not far from a vegetable field, three men were walking peacefully when a bloodcurdling scream shattered the silence.
They stopped in their tracks.
"Did you hear that?" one of them asked.
"Yes... It sounded like someone was in danger."
Without wasting a second, they rushed toward the field.
Their footsteps echoed across the ground as the silence slowly returned.
When they finally arrived, they froze.
A man lay motionless in the middle of the vegetable field.
They slowly approached him.
No movement.
No breath.
The man was dead.
A chill ran down their spines.
Who could have done such a thing?
People say revenge is a dish best served cold.
But some sins never disappear.
They survive the years, haunt generations, and always come back to claim their price.
Because the past never forgets.
Our story takes us to the Republic of the Congo, more precisely to Pointe-Noire.
This is where Roland Nganga lives, an ordinary man whose life is about to change forever.
The son of Jean Nganga and Jacqueline Masamba, Roland comes from a large family. Over the years, fate has been especially cruel to them.
Once again, he had returned to his native village because of a family tragedy.
The man found dead in the vegetable field...
Was his own brother.
The funeral lasted for two long weeks.
Relatives, neighbors, and friends came one after another to pay their final respects.
When the ceremonies finally ended, Roland, his brothers Arnaud, Paul, and Robert, along with the rest of the family, remained together in a heavy silence.
Only one question haunted everyone's mind.
"What if his death wasn't natural...?"
No one dared to answer.
Yet the circumstances surrounding his death were deeply disturbing.
According to the testimony of the three men who had found him, a terrifying scream had echoed from his vegetable field. They immediately ran to the scene.
But when they arrived...
They found him lying lifeless on the ground.
No signs of a struggle.
No witnesses.
Only a lifeless body...
And a mystery that no one could explain.
Roland lowered his head.
His heart felt unbearably heavy.
"What if my brother's death... is only the beginning?"
After a long silence, every member of the family reached the same conclusion.
"We must consult a marabout."
Everyone agreed.
If this death truly hid something supernatural, perhaps only a marabout could reveal the truth.
Without realizing it...
They were about to open a door that should have remained closed forever.
