The News That Changed Everything
It was a warm, beautiful spring day when my chauffeur suddenly picked me up from my shopping trip, saying my father wanted to speak with me.
When I got home, my father said in a rather unsettling tone, “Sit down.”
I had no idea what was coming.
Was he going to block my card because I had been spending too much lately? Or had he found out that I skipped my private tutoring session yesterday?
Then it came.
He told me we had to move back to Korea because of his job. And apparently, my mom would have better opportunities with her modeling and acting career there than in Germany.
By the way, I used to live in Korea until fourth grade… or maybe it was fifth. After that, my parents got amazing job offers abroad, and since they had always loved traveling, moving abroad for those opportunities was perfect for them.
But now I understood his worried tone.
He knows how much I love it here. And in Korea… bullying can be catastrophic.
I was bullied in elementary school just because I was rich. Can you believe that?
I told my parents how calm I was about it.

I had a really good friend there… and I’m still in contact with him.The one person I never truly forgot.
In the hardest times, he was always there for me. Once, he even got into a fight with two guys just because of me. He ended up with a few bruises, but he just smiled and said it was worth it.
God… he never thought before he acted.
