Lessons I'm not supposed to learn.

It's Saturday morning and I am late for my classes, the first period is Geography for 4 hours and it starts at 8, it's now 7:50 and I havent even brushed my teeth yet nor ate my breakfast. I think I will just buy myself vetkoeks (fat cakes) on the way. Oh and we will be taught by a new teacher, they got us a new one. I dont wanna give off the wrong impression on his 1st day in my school but he's only for the Saturdays so I guess it does not really matter. I quickly go to the bathroom and start brushing my teeth luckily I had already bathed and am into my uniform. I grab my phone and look at the time and its completely not on my side. I should get there right away. Its only a few mintues walk for me to my school.

After a few mins...

I am late with only 10 minutes, I hope he is not in class. Oh great we are getting mixed with the history class again. I don like it when we are full in the hall, it makes learning not that much fun and it's cramped and you have to carry your table to their class, I'm too lazy for all that. But I guess it's okay I don't have a choice afterall. I got into my classroom to grab my desk.

"Oh girl we are sorted, come now, he's here already".

That's my best friend Leleti, she always has my back, I giggle and head straight into the other class and my friend calls out for me, I go straight to her.I grab my seat and take out my Geography notebook. A dark figure comes in with a fresh new haircut and red eyes but perfectly love-shaped lips and a well-built body. I guess that is my new teacher for the weekends, he literally gives off gangster vibes and I like that, I bite my lips. I look over my right hand side and a random girl Im sitting with is looking at him and smirking but hey, she's one of those girls that love old men so I get her.

"Good morning class" he says.

His voice is prefectly deep like not the boring kinda deep voice but the attractive kind, he introduces himself by writing his surname on the board with a marker 'Meneer Maimane', never heard of such a surname before, he must be a Tswana or Zulu or I don know.

"Who am I class?"

"Meneer Maimane" we all say.

"Okay now let's get into the business of the day. Take out your notebooks and write everything that I'll be teaching you down and I'll be fast so you better keep up at my pace"

Okay he's so strict but let me trust him that he'll do well.

A few moments later...

Does he smoke? Ever since he started teaching, he's been pacing up and down and also he has red eyes.

"Girl, does he smoke?" I ask and she laughs as quiet as possible.

"Maybe".

"He's been pacing up and down ever since we been in class" I say.

"Maybe he drinks one of those mixtures that our physics teacher drinks" she says.

"Yeah right and he's also giving off gangster vibes" I say,

I am a bit curious about him, he looks exactly like those fictional men I read about in novels, those Zulu men, I hope he is one too. I blush.

"Well he owns a gun" She says.

I gasp "Girl, what? And how did you know?" I ask

"He's my man's friend"

Oh yeah I almost forgot that she is dating this teacher in another school and he owns a gun. But this is interesting to be honest, he owns a gun, he wears black and he had bloodshot eyes, he's dark and Im sure he drives off those cars that give of the "gangster vibes" completely.

"Now I need you to cram everything right now , all at once and I will tell you when to raise up your arms and start praying those notes with your eyes closed"

"Yoh" almost everyone in class gasps.

"Meneer okhi nkare o tlo lapiša so ( this teacher will be exhausting as far as I can tell)" I say.

"Alright now, raise your arms and start praying, the first one". He says near me, his voice is so loud.

"A nucleated settlement is a settlement that has houses that are near each other" we all say.

"Good, the advantages?"

During break...

"Oh hes a good teacher, I literally remember everything he taught us" Lelethi says.

"You can say that again, I wish he could come teach here" I back her up.

Lelethi's eyes pops out and she puts on a straight face.

"Yoh I heard he is so strict Bongi! We will get get punished everyday if he comes here" she says.

She is scared of him plus he does seem like he means business.

"But we need him thou, I don't care much about that, we infact need a very strict teacher, I think we will get good results if he teaches us to be honest" I say while smiling.

"Mhh you're right, he said we should study all those notes and thoroughly so when he comes back next time, he doesn't have to go back, this one will exhaust us shame" Lelethi says.We both let out a little laugh carrying our little lunchboxes heading outside to the school benches to eat. "What did they make for you today ?" I ask.

At home...

Finally I'm home, the last period was physics, boring as always, I hate that teacher! I don even know why because he didn't do me any wrong, maybe it's because of his subject. Geography was nice though. I take off my school uniform and put on my gown, its currently a bit cold in SA and I don't wanna risk getting a flu plus those damn sinuses be a huge dealbreaker for me to enjoy my winter season. I sigh pulling my warm gown tighter around myself to keep the chill away. I sit on the edge of my bed and open up my phone, enter my diary app and start journaling about my day.
