Chapter 1

Episode 1

The room changed the moment he walked in.

It wasn’t loud.

It wasn’t dramatic.

But somehow… everyone noticed.

Conversations slowed. Heads turned. Even the music seemed to fade into the background, like it knew it wasn’t important anymore.

Lucien Voss had arrived.

He didn’t rush. He never did.

Dressed in a perfectly tailored black suit, he moved with quiet confidence, the kind that didn’t need attention—because it already owned it. His dark eyes swept across the room, calm, observant, almost bored.

Girls noticed first.

They always did.

A whisper here. A glance there. Someone fixing their hair. Someone straightening their dress.

Then came the smiles. The bold ones.

“Lucien!”

A girl hurried toward him, her heels clicking against the marble floor. She looked stunning—deliberately so. Red lips. Perfect curves. Confidence carefully practiced.

She touched his arm like she belonged there.

“I didn’t think you’d come tonight.”

Lucien looked at her.

Not fully. Not deeply.

Just enough.

“I changed my mind.”

His voice was low. Smooth. Controlled.

The kind of voice that didn’t ask for attention… but commanded it anyway.

The girl smiled wider, encouraged.

“Well, I’m glad you did.”

Of course she was.

They always were.

Episode 2

Across the room, Amara Hale didn’t look up.

She had heard the shift. Felt it, even. But she didn’t care.

Her focus stayed on the book in her hands, her fingers gently flipping a page as if nothing had changed.

Because, to her, nothing had.

“Are you serious right now?”

Her friend, Tessa, dropped into the seat beside her, eyes wide with disbelief.

“Do you know who just walked in?”

Amara didn’t look up.

“I can guess.”

“Lucien Voss.”

Still nothing.

Tessa stared at her like she had just committed a crime.

“Everyone is literally losing their minds right now and you’re… reading?”

Amara finally lifted her gaze—just slightly.

“I was reading before he walked in.”

“That’s not the point.”

“It is to me.”

Tessa leaned closer, lowering her voice.

“You don’t ignore Lucien Voss.”

Amara raised an eyebrow.

“Why not?”

Tessa blinked.

“Because… you just don’t.”

A small pause.

Then Amara went back to her book.

“Sounds like his problem, not mine.”

Episode 3

Lucien noticed her five minutes later.

Not because she was trying to be seen.

But because she wasn’t.

In a room full of people competing for his attention…

there was one person who hadn’t even looked at him.

That alone was enough.

He shifted his glass slightly, his gaze settling across the room.

There she was.

Seated. Calm. Completely uninterested.

No glance.

No curiosity.

No effort.

Nothing.

For the first time that night, something changed in his expression.

Not much.

Just a flicker.

Interest.

“Who is she?”

The question came casually, directed at the guy standing beside him.

The guy followed his gaze.

“Oh… her?”

A slight hesitation.

“That’s Amara.”

Lucien’s eyes didn’t move.

“Amara… what?”

“Hale.”

Silence.

Lucien took a slow sip of his drink.

“And she hasn’t looked at me… why?”

The guy let out a small, nervous laugh.

“I don’t think she cares.”

That was the wrong answer.

Lucien lowered the glass.

His gaze sharpened slightly, locking onto her in a way that felt… deliberate.

Intentional.

Dangerous.

“Everyone cares,” he said quietly.

Across the room, Amara turned a page.

Still unaware.

Still uninterested.

Still saying nothing.

Lucien watched her for a moment longer…

then a faint smile touched his lips.

Not amused.

Not pleased.

Something else.

Something colder.

“Let’s see how long that lasts.”

Obsidian: He's hilarious. Like, actually. I loved it. You're writing style is great, although you could do with a few less murmurs and mutters.
