Moonless Night

This is a strange feeling.

I never felt like this.

My body was moving on its own without my interference.

I was walking in the woods.

The night was pleasant and peaceful.

It was dark, the moon light couldn’t seep through as it was blocked by the thick tree leaves and branches.

There was a man in front of me walking with a stick.

The stick looked more similar to a sword than a stick.

He looked just like a man in his thirties.

This body was following the man.

After a brief period of walking, we both were able to escape the woods.

For some reason I couldn’t hear anything, the wind blowing, the trees rustling, insects and birds chirping.

The land we came to was plain grassy land.

It was somewhat better than it was in the woods.

But there was no moon.

It was a new moon night.

The grass was moving, indicating that the wind is blowing.

I couldn’t even feel it.

The man with the stick walked to the edge of the cliff and stood.

I could see his dress and hair moving due to wind.

Standing at the edge, he looked at the sky and was staring at it.

He was wearing a shirt, it was a Hawaiian shirt, a three-forth short just what you would wear in Hawaii, the top three buttons were unbuttoned and was wearing shoes that were comfortable for climbing.

My head also looked up, the sky was filled with stars, beautiful, bright and elegant.

Anyone would want to come to a place like this if they knew how it looks on a new moon night.

We both just stared at the sky.

Suddenly three range rovers arrived in a line.

Three people-one from each car from the front passenger seat got out of the car and discussed something with the man.

I was standing at a distance from them.

Even if I wanted to move closer, I couldn’t move.

Three of them returned back and said something to the one’s in the back seats of the car.

The people in the back seat got out.

They brought a tied man out-one from each car.

They brought a foldable table and four chairs that were foldable, arranged them, untied the men.

All the three sat and the man with the stick also sat down with them handing his stick to one of his men.

The light from the car’s headlights making it more visible.

They were served with a traditional Japanese sake and four disposable glasses.

The man opened the bottle and filled all the cups.

The man sitting to his left said something as he was enraged.

To tell how the situation looked, the three captives were in terror, fear, trembling.

They were sweating, their shirts drenched in sweat.

Not even one of them was looking at him.

They were looking at the ground.

Even the one who spoke didn’t look at him, he looked at the ground.

I couldn’t hear what he said but from the way he moved his head and from the expressions I could tell that it wasn’t something nice.

The place was filled with silence for a few seconds.

As everyone was not moving and were just still.

The man laughed loudly, as he stretched his head upwards and opened his mouth.

That was one hell of an evil face with an evil smile.

After he finished it, he raised his cup, the three captives also raised their cups with their timid faces and trembling hands.

The four of them drank and the man poured again, and again, and again until the whole bottle was empty.

He got up after that and walked saying something to the three.

Then he raised his hand backwards and the one who took his stick before returned it to him.

He held it in both his hands at the level of his chest and drew out a sword.

I thought it seemed like a sword but it didn’t look like it, but now it’s confirmed.

The men that were watching until now came forward and held the captives and made them kneel.

He walked to each one and cut their throats.

The cuts were not too deep nor too shallow, not too lengthy nor too short.

After he slit their throats he returned to his seat, the subordinate brought another sake bottle and a radio.

The man turned on the radio, and was moving his head as if he was listening to music.

He poured himself a glass and drank it slowly while watching the starry night sky and feeling the breezing wind.

The three were gurgling as the blood was flowing out through their mouths and necks, the ground began to turn red from gold and green.

The look in their eyes was filled with regret and despair.

They were struggling like fish that was thrown on the land from water, holding the area where the neck was slit.

After seeing the thick red liquid flowing from them, I started to feel a bit weak, I could feel my consciousness fading.

I tried to avoid losing consciousness, but I couldn’t resist it.

Huff...

huff...

huff...

I opened my eyes and I was in my room.

So, it was all a dream it felt too realistic for a dream.
