Chapter 0: World-Building & Lore Manual
Welcome, traveler, to the dark, neon-soaked universe of Lilium.
This story bridges the breathtaking, grand-scale mythology of classical Chinese high fantasy with the grit, mystery, and sharp style of a modern dark urban thriller.
Here, gods are flawed tyrants, demons carry codes of honor forged in suffering, and love is a dangerous catalyst that can rewrite reality.
Before you dive into Chapter 1, use this official manual to familiarize yourself with the laws, realms, and hidden fractures of the universe you are about to enter
🌎 World-Building & Lore Manual
1. The Tri-Planar Reality.
The universe of Lilium is built upon three overlapping planes of existence that share the same geographical space but vibrate at different spiritual frequencies.

The Mortal Urban Realm (Jianghua City):
A sprawling, rain-heavy megacity characterized by towering skyscrapers, narrow neon-lit alleys, and traditional courtyards preserved under the shadows of glass towers.
It is the physical anchor of the world. Mortals are completely blind to the supernatural unless their "Spiritual Aperture" is forcefully opened.

The Spirit Mirage (Linjie):
A distorted, mirror-image version of Jianghua that exists parallel to it. In Linjie, buildings are overgrown with bioluminescent, ancient flora; the sky is a permanent indigo twilight, and rivers flow with liquid silver. This is the neutral ground where rogue spirits, minor deities, and black-market supernatural merchants reside.

The Demon Kingdom (Jiuyou / The Nine Seclusions): Located deep beneath the spiritual crust, Jiuyou is a subterranean world of dark crystalline architecture, subterranean seas of black fire, and floating obsidian fortresses. It is not an "evil" hell, but rather a harsh, meritocratic ecosystem powered by raw elemental negative energy (Yin) and primordial shadows.

The Divine Realm (Yuehua): A cold, authoritarian paradise floating above the clouds. Built of white jade, gold, and unmelting frost, it is ruled by the Solar Tribunal. Once a place of benevolence, it has become stagnant, paranoid, and ruthless, hoarding the world's spiritual energy (Yang) while leaving the mortal realm to starve.

2. The Rules of Magic & Supernatural Hierarchy
The Flow of Qi: Magic is divided into Yang-Qi (Light, Creation, Solar/Celestial power) and Yin-Qi (Shadow, Destruction, Lunar/Abyssal power).

The Law of Seasonal Decay: The world requires four Sovereign Deities to cycle their Qi to maintain the mortal world.
Because the Celestial Court executed or locked away the old seasonal gods to consolidate power, the seasons are breaking down. This has resulted in the "Fallen Spring"—a state where nature rots instead of regenerating, blooming with toxic, corrupted spiritual parasites.

The SovereignBound: High-tier beings (like the Demon King and true Gods) cannot exert their full catastrophic powers in the mortal world without wearing

"Spiritual Shrouds"—charms or seals that suppress their aura.
If a Sovereign breaks their shroud, it triggers localized environmental disasters (e.g., localized eclipses, spontaneous earthquakes, or torrential weather .

Okayyy, I'm already hooked.
I actually love that you took the time to build the world first because it made everything feel so much more immersive. The different realms, the Yin and Yang Qi system, and the whole Celestial Court twist had me locked in from the start. You can tell you put a lot of love into this world, and honestly none of it felt confusing or info-dumpy to me.
I'm already super curious about Bai Weiling and Xie Shenye, and I can't wait to see how their story unfolds. Also, the illustrations were such a nice touch because they made it so easy to picture everything in my head. It honestly felt like I was seeing the world come to life while reading.
