Thoughts

There’s a million words inside her head

But only a few are ever said

The rest just drawn before sunset

Or run through her mind as she goes to bed

Some are questions, some are dreads

Some are comebacks she never said

Some are things she never meant

To say in the way they may interpret

But most of all, are the regrets

The things she should have done back then

At the time that it would have been best

Than sitting here now only to repent.

Her only wish is to change for the best

For herself, to follow through to the end

So the people who love her can finally rest

After supporting her though their expectations weren’t met.

This poem perfectly captures the heavy burden of overthinking and the weight of unspoken words. The lines about the 'million words inside her head' and the 'comebacks she never said' are incredibly relatable. It’s deeply emotional and beautifully written. Great start to the collection, Trisha! Can't wait to read more.

This is such a powerful piece. I love how beautifully you expressed the internal battle between silence, regret and the ultimate wish for self-improvement. The flow is wonderful, and the emotion behind your words is so raw. Beautiful work!

Evtida: It was a very sweet story, but it felt rushed. It didn't really convey the emotions. For example, when the girl was kidnapped, instead of panicking, going crazy, and causing a scene, giving in felt strange... His exaggerated relationship with his gay friend was also odd in my opinion.
