When Life Chooses to Be Beautiful

Luna had always believed that the world hid little secrets in places people forgot to look.

Not the grand kind.

Not the kind written about in history books or captured in expensive photographs.

The small ones.

A forgotten flower growing between cracks in a sidewalk. A bird resting on a streetlight as if it owned the entire sky. The way sunlight changed the color of old buildings during winter evenings.

Things most people walked past without noticing.

Maybe that was why Luna liked walking alone.

There was a strange comfort in being surrounded by a world that did not expect anything from her. No conversations to maintain. No smiles to force. No explanations to give.

Just silence.

And in silence, she could finally hear herself.

That afternoon, the cold air carried the smell of winter. Luna pulled her sleeves over her hands as she wandered through a quiet garden she had discovered by accident a few weeks ago.

She had no destination.

She rarely did.

Sometimes she thought people were too obsessed with reaching places to notice that the journey itself could be beautiful.

Then she saw them.

White camellias.

A small group of flowers blooming peacefully against the dullness of the season.

Luna stopped walking.

There was something about them that made her pause.

Maybe it was the contrast. The world around them looked tired, almost lifeless, yet these flowers stood there as if winter had simply failed to convince them that they should give up.

She took out her phone.

Click.

The first picture was too far away.

Click.

The second one captured the way the petals curved gently.

Click.

The third one felt right.

Luna looked at the image for a while.

She wasn't sure why certain moments stayed with people.

Why one ordinary afternoon could become a memory.

Why one flower could make someone feel something they couldn't explain.

Her fingers hovered over the screen as she typed a caption.

"Life can be strangely beautiful, at least when it wants to be..."

She stared at the sentence.

It wasn't exactly hopeful.

Not completely.

Luna knew life wasn't always gentle. She knew some days felt heavier than others. She knew people could carry things they never showed to the world.

But that didn't mean beauty stopped existing.

Sometimes it was just harder to find.

She posted the picture.

Then she put her phone away and continued walking.

To Luna, it was just another small moment.

A flower.

A thought.

A picture shared with strangers.

She smiled looking at the warm winter sky and continued walking toward the convenience store she visited every few evenings.

Ku_Rolet: The novel was good, and I really enjoyed reading it. I love the leads and their bond, but I have one question that confused me. How could Tristan have been dreaming about his mate since he was a child if Omara was already mated to someone else before him? If Kyle had accepted Omara, would Tristan ne...

Roxx@n: It was longer, it was a really good read. I enjoyed it a lot. Wanted to see if Carlos became a great dad and he Grayson his friend out loud. He's rather closed off so a lil broader back story would be nice. And yes the wedding and twins announcement. A girl can hope right?
