Vegas Sunrise
Tamara's Pov
The sun is rising between the beautiful purple, pink and orange ribbons in the sky. It is simply breathtaking.
I am on the balcony enjoying the Vegas sunrise, sipping on some tea. I am still in disbelief. This is the first morning I have awakened to the thought of our baby.
Good morning, sweet baby. I want you to know you were made from love. Mama will have to work hard this week, so please be good to me. I promise you, we will have plenty of rest afterwards.
The house is already moving. I make my way to the dining room for breakfast.
"Good morning, sleeping beauty." Jasmine says, as she hands me a glass of orange juice.
"Good morning, but you know it is not even seven o'clock yet."
"That's late for you." Jasmine smiles.
"You're right, but Jasmine you know I'm not an orange juice kind of girl." I say, trying to pass the glass back to her.
"I know, but it's good for you. Drink it anyway." Jasmine says with a stern look.
Omar raises one eyebrow.
"Love, do you want some apple juice instead?" Omar asks.
"Nope Babes, apple juice is filled with sugar. At least the orange juice is filled with vitamins too. Drink the orange juice Tamara." Eva says without looking up from her phone.
Omar looks bewildered. My mouth opens, then I close it back. I have nothing to say.
I think I may have made a mistake telling the Chica's that I am pregnant. The reason why I haven't told Omar yet is because I didn't want him babying me. My Chica's is doing just that. I know it is from love, but I definitely have to talk to them about it later.
We are here in Vegas for business. There are so many things that need to be taking care of. Now is not the time for distractions, not even my baby.
"Okay, so did everyone get the itinerary for today?" Are there any questions, comments or adjustments that need to be made? I ask.
"No, everything is pretty clear." Jasmine respond.
"Did we get any confirmation on the time frame that the deliveries will began to arrive at the Venue?" Omar asks.
"Today, the time range is between noon and five. We have a food, alcohol and furniture delivery. Catalina is scheduled to meet us at the venue at three o'clock." I say, looking over my glasses.
"Oh, sexy Chef Catalina." Eva whispers.
"Don’t you start Eva." I giggle.
"Remember, no house guests Ladies. Regardless of how bad she is. And please no social media post, of intimate moments." Omar chimes in.
"Yes daddy, whatever you say. That isn't going to stop us from entertaining Catalina at the hotel though." Eva sings.
"You both are made for each other. Two damn elephants, that remembers everything. You don't let anything go!" Eva says as she points to Omar and me.
We all just laugh out.
Omar's Pov
Mr. Daniels is coming by early to have a meeting with us. We are meeting with him so he can brief us on Catalina.
"Mr. Daniels it is good to see you again." I say as I reach to shake his hand.
"Good morning, Mr. Daniels. Were you able to get any sleep earlier after you dropped us off?" Tamara asks.
"Yes, Mrs. Moore. I was able to get some rest. Thank you."
"That's good. Shall we head over to the office?" I offer.
We enter into the office.
"Please, have a seat Mr. Daniels." I say as I pull out Tee's chair on the opposite side of the table.
"So, you have found some information on Catalina?" Tee asks.
"Yes, I have." Mr. Daniels says as he pulls out a folder.
"Apparently, Miss Catalina Hernandez is an alias for Isabella Garcia Perez." He pauses.
I look over to Tee, and she has a bewildered look on her face.
"Why don't she use her birth name?" Tamara asks.
"What, I am about to disclose to you is in absolute confidence. The words spoken here is never to be repeated." Mr. Daniels says with a serious look.
"We completely understand, what is said here will not leave these four walls." I say as I nod my head.
The truth is that we definitely understand. Mr. Daniels is ex-Navy Seal. Whatever information he got for us, no doubt came from a source who have a lot of respect for him. Never would we ever disclose the information that he provides us.
"Catalina, was the princess of the Garcia Cartel." Mr. Daniels looks at me, as if the name would be familiar.
I have heard about the Garcia Cartel, but I nod for him to continue. I look over to Tee, and I see this is upsetting to her. I reach for her hand, our fingers intertwine.
'The Garcia Cartel was one of the most powerful Families in the business, until they came under attack. Another family decided they were going to take them down." Mr. Daniels pause.
"Rumor has it that the take down came from within the organization. The Garcia family was betrayed. Catalinas' caregiver was able to keep her safe, even though she was just a teenager herself." Mr. Daniels sighs.
"Her entire life changed in one night. She lost almost everyone she loved. Her caregiver, managed to get Catalina to America and they went off the grid."
"Oh, my word. That is terrible!" Tee says.
"The Garcia massacre." I whisper.
"Yes Mr. Moore, the Garcia massacre. It didn't just end that night. The goal was to destroy the entire family. They hunted Catalina and her two surviving brothers for years. One brother completely disappeared, though he is said to be alive. The other brother secretly rebuilt the family business from the ground up. Catalina is now protected, but she keeps a low profile. She keeps to herself. No known friends or associates."
"That is so sad." Tee whispers.
While the story was being told to us, Tee somehow found her way to sit on my lap.
"Mr. Daniels, you mentioned that you feel like Catalina is not a threat to us." I ask.
"No, I don't feel like she is a threat. Catalina does not have anything to do with the family business. Her brother wants her to have a safe, happy life. She is safe." Mr. Daniels pauses again.
"In all honesty, I think Catalina just wanted to spend time with you and your friends. In case you don't realize it, you and your friends are good people. From the outside looking in, you are a happy family. I think she just wanted to be a part of that. Even though it was unprofessional on her part."
"Wow, that is a lot to take in. I feel bad that I was thinking the worse about Catalina." Tee says.
"Love, we just didn't know." I say, as I rub her arm.
"Mr. Daniels, thank you so much for finding out all of this information. We appreciate you. Would it be possible if we can just have a little more time before we leave for the Venue." I ask.
"Of course. Take all the time you need."
"Mr. Daniels, there is plenty of food in the kitchen. Please help yourself. We will not be long." Tee says.
"Love, are you okay with everything? I know this new information about Catalina is a lot." I ask Tee.
"I think I am okay. We knew Catalina had a secret. I just didn't think it was something of this magnitude. Do you think we are in danger?" Tee ask me.
"I do not think we are in danger. I truly believe Mr. Daniels would tell us if we were. Did you notice how sympathetic he was, when he was telling us about Catalina?"
"I did, his eyes were sad. There was probably a lot of details that he left out. Even when he mentioned the reason why Catalina wanted to be around us, because of the family vibe we have. Mr. Daniels sounded kind of lonely himself then." Tee points out.
"Love, I picked up on that too. Maybe we can make some time before the event to have a small family meal and invite Catalina and Mr. Daniels."
"I will see if we can fit it in, if not definitely after the event. My Chica's is going to be shocked." Tee giggles.
"They most definitely will, especially after I gave the speech of absolutely no guest." I laugh out.
"That's right daddy, you put your foot down earlier." Tee laughs out.
"First things first, I don't like being called daddy." I sigh.
"You didn't say that to Eva, daddy" Tee tease.
"That's because it is better to ignore Eva. If I told her I didn't like it, she would be doing it all the damn time." I laugh out.
"That is true, I guess we should get ready to get out of here."
"Okay, let me just grab my wallet."
Tamara walks towards the bedroom door. She stops and looks over her shoulder.
"I will be waiting for you downstairs, daddy." Tee smiles and give me a wink.

Oh this is like seeing all of my old friends again. Tamara, you gotta tell Omar about the baby! 😂
Very good start to book 2! I wasn't expecting Catalina's secret to be cartel related! Hope they stay safe.
